There are laptops within $550-$600 range with GPU like GTX 1650 ti and even a RTX 3050 (from Gigabyte). Not sure why are you praying.
I think you actually failed to understand even in few years there will be laptops with far higher price than this without GPU because the target audience is different. Consider Dell XPS 13 which, with this configuration, costs around $1100 but still doesn't have any Gfx and there are plenty of Gaming laptops with RTX 3060 on that price...So, why they are selling that?

When a gpu is included at this price range the rest of the laptop generally ends up being sub par which may or may not bother you depending on how it's used
I'd be happy with one of AMDs new higher end 6000 series cpus and it's rdna2 integrated graphics. No Vram limitations and way better battery life would be better imo over an entry level discrete GPU at this price. Unfortunately I don't think we'll see that CPU without a discrete GPU anytime soon around this price. Btw I'm amazed how fast this laptop dropped in price. I remember it launching at just under $1k.
In a few years the integrated graphics from both AMD and Intel will be much more powerful.
AMD Rembrandt 12 CU = around a GTX 1050 Ti. After that there will be Phoenix (2023) and Strix Point (2024?). My guess is that Phoenix will be around GTX 970, and Strix Point around GTX 1070. Then you would have a couple new generations within "a few years".
On the Intel side, the rumors have them increasing EU count from the 96 this chip has to 320-384 within about 3-4 gens. They could use multiple tiles to make their future discrete GPUs and drop one of the tiles into mobile designs.

The point is, you will continue to see integrated graphics at this price point. You might even see less discrete graphics as it gets muscled out. The new MX550 is pointless next to Rembrandt 12 CU (680M).

Although the battery is a little small, I really don't go mobile anyway.
...Besides USB-C charging basically eliminates laptop power issues for me.
Will buy.

Not blazing performance like a MSI Evo, but compares well to LG Gram at least in performance, if not battery life.
