Just my opinion as a man that loves to cook, glass prep bowls are a PIA. I was always worried about breaking them. One of my favorite purchases were these stainless-steel mixing bowls: https://amzn.to/3qsW4L6

No glassware for my kitchen prep. SS doesn't break or chip and I'll gladly pay 5x for 2 more bowls that will last me a 10x longer.

No microwave use and 5X the cost? No thanks.

Glass bowls last over 20 years if you are careful and take care of them. Do you need bowls that last 200 years?

Yes, Stainless is long lasting. I just realized that the set of stainless prep bowls in my kitchen were purchased 30+ years ago and they are still going strong.

Just FYI, Dollar Tree sells smaller sized stainless bowls ranging from 5 1./2" to 6 7/8" in diameter - actually slightly larger than the glass bowls in this deal. I bought several of them before. They also work well for picnic. This link is for reference only. https://www.dollartree.com/cookin...wls/206649

I really like the stainless ones from Ikea because the bowl doesn't have a lip, so super easy to clean and won't have anything stuck under the lip

As a man who cooks daily, I love my glass prep bowls. I also love my stainless prep bowls.

It all really depends on what you are doing and the quality of the glass.

All my glass bowls are either Duralex made in France or Pyrex made in the good ol' USA.

I have a couple of large made in USA glass bowls made by Anchor Hocking.

What the hell are you guys doing to these? I've got some that are as old as me with zero issues

Not all glass bowls are the same. I have no experience with these Target glass bowls so I cannot comment on their quality. But it did happen to me a couple of times that the glass bowl cracked when I removed the glass bowl from microwave and placed it in a stainless steel sink because I did not find a trivet to place it on. Of course now I have learned to use ceramic stoneware in microwave as the ceramic material seems to handle temperature changes better. The 8" square bowls from Dollar Tree work well for me. https://www.dollartree.com/royal-...s-8/226740

Glass and SS each have their purpose. One anecdotal example is whenever I use something with vinegar, SS can cause things to taste a bit off.

Since were on the topic of stainless steel bowls, anyone know a decent deal or place to get stainless mixing bowls? The Amazon link above is a touch higher than i'd like but also the dollar Tree ones are a little too cheap.

The stainless steel mixing bowls at Costco business centers are worth a look, and cheap too. Think the last one I got was 2 or 3 bucks
