Does anyone have any experience with device? It seems as though it has overheating issues.

yes, it has really bad overheating issues. Even if you lower the video quality/framerate to the lowest it still overheats. i've tried this along with its nearest competitor DJI Action 2, and both have really bad overheating issues.. i think they tried to make it too small. even gopro cant do it.

It's marketed for quick clips. The default settings are for like 15 second recordings.

Now, did they market it like that because they failed to overcome the issue of overheating or did they overlook overheating because they truly intended this to be used for short clips?

Unknown, but either way yes, it's kinda a failure.

I canceled my order. Apparently battery is only good for 30 minutes and not removable.

I don't own it but this is what it says on the site.

"Charge up in just half an hour and shoot for up to 2.5 hours. That's double what you'll get out of most action cams."

I had it and return it. Battery doesn't last long and it take to long to recharge. It's really for one time use every 3hrs. You got to buy 4 of these to make it worth it.

All things considered it's great at what it does but suffers in low light.

How does this compare to the latest gopros?

These are used for FPV drone flying. They still have overheating issues with 4 blades blowing air over it.

It was a hard pass when I saw YT reviews a while back.
Still, betting it was a cash cow for Insta360.

For a little more...get the Pocket 2 or dig deeper for a GP10

(owner of those + GPMax, Insta360 One R + iPhone 12PM and DLSR's for reference)

I had the first gen. It was great for short clips and time lapses, it's not really a go pro replacement. The stabilization is really good, especially for the size of the device.

After a year the glue holding it together also came loose. I taped it together with cellophane tape and it works fine. My biggest gripe is the poor control interface; I understand that was greatly improved on v2. That said I still don't see it as a go pro replacement, just a very niche device for situations where size and being discrete is important.

I have the V1. I like it, far from perfect. As long as the V2 fixes though issues, I'd buy it for this price. Only had my V1 for a few months though. I have the One R, but this is just very convenient and small.

I already have 2 gopros, but needed something smaller for travel with for normal walking without drawing too much attention. Bought one. Thanks OP.
