I got this last time it was for sale I've used it maybe 4 time already. It's been great, from full empty tire to 35 psi worked great. But make sure you have a full battery, if it dies during a refill it will completely deflated the item you're trying to fill. 🤦
It's really sad that you are so bored with life and small of a person that the highlight of your day is to troll Ryobi threads.
I used to have this mindset. Then I realized that as a regular Joe DIY-er I do not often push my tools to their limit the way a contractor that uses them daily might and that my livelihood is in no way tied to tool reliability. Once I realized that, I determined that the relatively small incremental performance boost from XYZ brand was not worth the sometimes significant increase in cost. But maybe you are a contractor and your livelihood is tied to it. Or maybe you have more disposable income and like to buy more expensive tools. Im sure there are 100 other reasons why you might not like Ryobi aside from one broke on you once. But in any event, thread crapping just because of a brand reminded me of the old Ford vs Chevy and made me laugh, so I typed this message. Have a good day.

and its loud as...

But it does work, although I just ordered a 60 gallon air compressor, so hopefully just use that from now on.
I have a California Tools air compressor that is much quieter than this ryobi inflator. I even have an inflator attachment with light up digital gauge. But I never use the air compressor anymore since getting this Ryobi inflator. The convenience of just slapping a battery in and going is too nice to ignore. Also being able to dial in the exact pressure and knowing it will shut off once it's reached… game changer. For my car tires, I turn it on and walk away as it will take 30-60 seconds depending on how much work it has to do. But it sure beats my fat butt doing a squat for who knows how long with the air compressor attachment while trying not to over inflate the tire.

Not a fan of the newer model at all. The valve on the new model is a screw-in type. So if you need a quick release valve, this is not it. When you unscrew the valve, it will release some air. I really liked quick release one on the older larger model as it was quick to put on and take off. Other than that, it's a slimmer model, and worth the money.

I do not have a Ryobi set up, and I do see that this doesn't come with a battery.

Would I be able to charge this via the main device? Or will I have to purchase a charger separately?
You can't charge it directly. I was able to buy a charger from Amazon and got an original Ryobi charger for $16.

I have one of these from a previous deal, the thing is an absolute life saver, especially considering Wawa's free air pumps are always out of order 😅

It's crazy how inflation has driven prices up. $69.99 was no deal at all a few months ago. I got this same item for $34.99 at Home Depot last June. And even then I was on the fence on whether it was a good price.

How accurate is this for filling car tires? I have the previous Ryobi version and have to set it about 5psi over what my gauge says.

Good call with the 60 gallon air compressor! Not only will it be quieter and more portable than the Ryobi, it is also cheaper! Now that is a slick deal!
Smilie

My family loves when I bring my 60 gal compressor and 1000ft of 8 gauge extension cord to the Beach so I can blow up all their inflatables. I literally can blow up the beach balls in seconds, and as a bonus I can sand blast the kids at the end of the day. True, It is a slight inconvenience dragging the 100lb compressor through the sand, and it is pretty bulky to pack in the car, but the inflation time savings are so worth it.

In all seriousness, this is probably my favorite Ryobi 18v gadget. This is great for inflating bike, tractor and car tires, it's fantastic for inflatables, and I even use it to blow dust out of electronic equipment and computers. It's probably the best $30 I've ever spent on a tool.

I have 2 of these and it seems to be about 1 psi off. But, I did get them late 2020 from DTO for $47.98 for both. 59 and change, shipped and tax, so they have been much cheaper. Like others, since I purchased these, my compressor has been on vacation with only occasional usage.

Not a good deal if you don't have other Ryobi tools and/or charger.
I had a handheld inflator which I use with my Wilwaukee batteries via an adapter. It's the only Ryobi tool I have and it was $19
If you need a combo, DTO can be a place at the same price including battery charger.
