There's a smart way to clean your k/b and a dumb way. This spongey/gel is the dumb way.

Remove your key caps and soak them in a bowl of soapy water, blow out dust / particulate and use q-tips to clean properly. There are no shortcuts for achieving the best result.

If you make over $15 an hour, it's probably more efficient to buy a new keyboard and throw away the old one.

If you buy cheap crappy keyboard maybe. We have a huge problem in the world right now with E-waste. If you were going to get rid of the keyboard anyway and get a newer, nicer one then fine.
I'm not saying this is a good solution either. the reply you replied to is the best way of doing it. If you have a nice keyboard though absolutely don't throw it away and get a new one!

I have this…it's great if you use it right away. If you try using it again after a few months… you'll be in for some seriously disgusting and frustrating times.
