Redditors [reddit.com] say that Serkis does a great job but compared the Serkis version to a movie while the Inglis version is "as if Tolkien is reading it". Hope that helps
"I love the Rob inglis version don't get me wrong. But the Serkis version is far less monotone and a little faster paced. I found myself slightly speeding up the Inglis audiobook because he seemed to drag on. I do still prefer Rob Inglis' interpretation of the songs. Andy is far more dynamic but sometimes he gets far to quiet. All in all I enjoy both immensely but from now on will listen to Serkis more often"
"Only voice of his I didn't love was his Gandalf the Grey. It was a little too gruff and harsh for me, and kind of one note. Otherwise I agree he did excellent work!"
"Andy Serkis makes the books feel more like a movie, which I like. Rob Inglis makes it feel like Tolkien himself is sitting there reading his story for you, which I like even more. I think Andy Serkis absolutely nails Tom Bombadil though. But for me, Rob Inglis will always be the winner, even though the margin is tiny"

I guess ill grab them now and get around to them after wheel of time lol.
For me, personally, it gets too distracting when its to dramatized but then again having the actual golem voice would be cool.

Spoiler:
Some possible factors might be the over-dramatic delivery by Serkis or the copious non-speech sounds (noticeable breathing, snacking, swallowing) by Inglis.

My goal was to come out the hero and make them change the price for everyone. That did not happen.
I was not getting anywhere until I made them go to the landing page of the flash sale and asked them why they thought this book was on the flash sale page if it was not part of the flash sale.
