The Silmarillion audiobook is also on sale for $4.95 on Audible. For those interested in Prime Video's upcoming series The Rings of Power, the Silmarillion is a big part of the source material.

FYI. Amazon do not have rights to the Silmarillion.

What, Exactly, Is the Source Material Here?
So what did Amazon buy? "We have the rights solely to The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, The Return of the King, the appendices, and The Hobbit," Payne says. "And that is it. We do not have the rights to The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales, The History of Middle-earth, or any of those other books." That takes a huge chunk of lore off the table and has left Tolkien fans wondering how this duo plans to tell a Second Age story without access to those materials. The Amazon show is set in the second age. The Silmarillion (story) ends with the 1st age. There are two stories in the Silmarillion (book) that are in the second age. They are about the fall of Nuemenor and the rings of power. It will give you more of a history of the world than act as source material for the show. Still very much worthwhile.
The one-volume Kindle LOTR (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product..._ro_title) was at $3.99 when I bought it in 2018. I don't know if The Hobbit or the other stories have gotten to that price point yet, at least not in the official versions.

Any feedback the performance? I could see something like the Similarillion be either really good or really bad as an audio book depending on the quality of the reader.
The price seems very reasonable for someone who just wants to pick it up and have it available to read anytime in a kindle. I'll get the, I hope I'll start reading these one day. I loved the movies, completely epic movie in all proportions. I started watching Hobbit, the whole dinner scene went on and on and on, is there a "shortened" version of the Hobbit movie?

I listened to some of it on YouTube before it was taken down, and it kept me engaged, which not all audiobooks can do.

Awesome.
Only missing 2 volumes of The The History of Middle-earth, those being:
Volume 3: The Lays Of Beleriand and
Volume 4: The Shaping Of Middle-Earth
