And I agree. For the size of this thing, it isn't very powerful. Maybe it was good when it first came out, but newer offerings blow it out of the water.

of course there are better options out there. none for $111 i would bet.

for someone who uses this sporadically it is a very good deal...

Since I have batteries,I'm giving it a try but the pessimist in me says I will probably be disappointed.

Not to mention I'm not rolling in the dough right now...

Mostly be used for tire changes and front end work. Hopefully it will have enough beans for that.

If it's more powerful than the mid torque, which it better, it should meet your needs fine. Just big and bulky.

I have been using a big electric plug in Craftsman for years so I'm used to big and bulky. Just wanted something portable- just in case.

I have a couple Air impacts but my garage compressor is too small.

I did not realize they still manufactured and sold the old style brushed OP, but as you say, for most DIY and homeowners, it will probably be fine.

If you can wait for a deal, the DCF899B is brushless, shorter from front to back with at least twice the power. With a 5amp battery and 115 charger, we paid $180 after 10% military discount at Lowes over Christmas. The Milwaukee version is just as good with both developing considerably more than rated.

Wait till around Black Friday deals.. bought the DCF899 with 4ah battery and dcb115 charger for $199 at the depot.. the dcf894 was around $100-$150 at Lowe's not all that long ago. I had this impact ( well, the 18V stem top battery version), less power than the 894, and as heavy as the 899..

I have this and the brushless mid range Dewalt and also the brushless high torque 20v. This is a great tool! Beefy and weighty. The specs may not be what the brushless high torque model is but guys have been using this same tool for years! I had the same wrench in the 18v NiCad version. Just a great heavy duty tool that feels heavy duty while holding it. I also have the corded version of this tool when the Depot was doing a tool refresh in their cordless displays. Think I paid like $40 bucks as it was the display model but never used! If your not in a hurry for a impact wrench, this tool usually goes on sale 1-2x year with 5aH battery and charger for around $159 I believe?

I'm thinking this would be a good tool for me. I change out the wheel hubs on my boat trailer every few years and that's about the only use I have for an impact wrench. I have plenty of other Dewalt tools and batteries, so no battery needed. I've never seen an Dewalt impact wrench this cheap.

This would be the perfect tool for changing out the wheel hubs. Great tool lots of torque and the uses are endless in automotive uses. Yeah it may not fit in the smaller spaces but for wheels and suspension it is nice. If you ever end up needing more torque to pull off a nut, you could use a breaker bar to initially loosen.
