interesting, rtings just came out with Best Hisense article https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/hisense

I'm looking for a HTPC monitor to replace my TCL 6 series. It was probably not the best TV for PC use but I've been using it for 4yrs that way.

Edit, it appears the h8g1 is the 2021 model. Still not sure why anyone would buy this over the u6g or the u7g for nearly the same price

a quick google search, and it seems that other guy is correct. the h8g1 uses quantum or something, and is a separate listing on hisense website.

It is, but if you look at the list of qualifying TVs, the H-Series (this thread) does not qualify. The only ULED TVs that qualify are the U-Series 55" and larger.

I've been eyeballing that $299.00 R7G5 for the same uses. Just streaming shows and movies. I just lost the backlight on an old budget 50" Hisense after 8 years of constant use plus it started life as a Walmart display model. Can't even imagine how many hours were on that thing!!!
