The number to be ported will need to be reachable.

Thanks for the info, but the glaring problem here is there's no mention of the sim coming pre-activated anywhere on the website where you sign up, nor does Boost mention it in their welcome email. The other email they sent regarding how to activate specifically states that if you did not activate at a Boost store, to follow instructions to do so. The package you receive in the mail from them doesn't mention the pre activation either. It included instructions on how to activate.

I appreciate your comment, but I'm just saying people shouldn't be required to follow a slickdeals thread for this kind of information after their purchases. Boost Mobile wasn't upfront with it on their order page, so it's a pretty shady business practice. If I had removed my billing info then the pre activated service would have expired without me using it anyways, so it's not like I would have later gotten the deal promised in the first place. I hate companies that pull this kind of BS.

How many people these days are sitting around with zero service ready to activate immediately the moment they order? All other carriers give you at least a reasonable amount of time to activate an ordered sim. It's not like I walked into their store.
Hi mobile4kevin,

We do actually let you know at checkout that your sim will be express activated if you are getting a new number. This info can be found under the cart portion showing the amount you are paying.

Hello Boost CS - Why is there no tracking info for the shipment? Also, how is it fair to activate the sim and start the service even without the customer receiving it?

Hello BoostMobileCS, The sim is already activated when shipped and it's already more than a week the item is not received. So basically you are giving this offer to try only for 2 weeks i believe provided the sim arrives before the next billing cycle date. That's so inappropriate. Atleast give the tracking info where the item can be tracked. No doubt why you are not getting good subscribers.

When porting out to Google Fi, do we select the carrier as At&t?

Thanks I see it now. It's in the fine print at the bottom of the page that is literally using smaller text than anything else on the page. Right below the big buy now button. 🙄

Hello, Boost Mobile,

An email was sent me on on 5/5, with subject "Your Boost Mobile order has shipped!".

Could you please check status on my order 7462-405095-6217?

Going to online chat, I was redirected to a page which states "Click the link in the email to track your shipment. Most shipments will arrive within 2-3 business days." Actually, in the email received there was no link.

Appreciate your help!

Avoid! I tried the trial. Decided to switch. Deleted autopay and credit card info and ported out. Boost still charged me. My account was cancelled because I ported out so they claim they can't help me. Just received an email stating that they are now charging me for another month. Already disputed charge with CC company. This is becoming a real hassle. AVOID!

If you have already ported out, how are they able to charge for a number that they don't service anymore? I ported out of Boost to Google Fi yesterday and verified that i am able to make calls using Fi with my number. Boost SIM no longer works, but online account shows as though my account is still valid (unlike Visible). This is my first time using Boost. I think I should be ready to dispute based on your feedback.

In general, how long does the account continue to work AFTER you port out of Boost?

Hi coolchicagoguy,

As long as you ported out and cancelled your service with a care agent your account should be deactivated shortly. If you are concerned with any charges going through you can always remove your credit card from the account as an extra precaution.

If I have ported out, what is there to cancel with a care agent after that? Any other carrier in the past, I did not have to work with a prior carrier AFTER the number is ported out. Please clarify what you mean by "cancel service with a care agent".

Hi,

You can still have service on any provider even if you ported out. It is common practice to not cancel your service until you verify that the port to your new provider was successful. I would verify that you did cancel your service with a care agent just to be safe. You shouldn't see any charges come through but I would always double check.

What will you be servicing when the phone number is with another carrier / provider? There is no such thing as canceling service with existing carrier, when you port out, especially for a prepaid provider. If it is postpaid, there is possibly a final bill for any outstanding payment.

I hope you understood my question. My port was already completed, which should be considered as service no longer utilized.

This puts Boost at much lower credibility than where it already is.
