For the most part, quartz is looked down upon because it lacks "soul". The coolest thing about automatics is how they are powered, and are able to tell time in such a "low tech" way. Add in the fact that cheap quartz watches rarely hit the minute markers accurately all the way around, it turns a lot of people off. With that said you can get Seiko quartz that performs excellent in their high end divers, or even sweeping quartz which is an actual engineering marvel. Most people would take a Seiko spring drive (quartz) over a cheap automatic movement. But the quartz movement in this watch is nothing special and worth probably $5. So, you're paying for the dial, crystal, case and bracelet mostly...

Nothing is wrong. It's like an abacus vs a calculator. An automatic watch is basically a mechanical watch (like the abacus). Automatics are more like a pet, requiring a bit more from the user. Any high end watch Rolex, Omega, Tudor, RM, Grand Seiko, AP, Patek, is all about automatics for the most part.

Pretty much yes. Say you buy it and it dies. Most likely you just need to replace the battery inside and it should run worry free every day, very accurately, for another 2+ years. Personally I like citizen better for quartz. Because it's solar powered, no need for battery replacements. But it's a completely different segment than Tissot imo, so apples to oranges.

Convenience, durability and accuracy… and low price…. However these days with apple watches it seems quartz is in a middle spot where it's not needed, so I feel like it's Apple Watch or automatic (nicer) watch for me… but I have several quartz (eco drive, Swiss quartz, g shock,) and all have been going for years with no issues

The movement in this Tissot PRC200 is an ETA G10.211 4 Jewel quartz. More like $45-$65.
