We got this before Christmas for my oldest son (and well, we all use it!) It's very nice and easy.

Don't whisk your mixture at high speeds (we used our KitchenAid mixer once on high to see) and make it frothy, the contents will separate while it freezes and it doesn't turn out the greatest. It struggled a bit to get through that as the hardest part was at the bottom.

Adding on: This is a sale, but it isn't the best sale price for it. It was on sale at Walmart in December for $124.00 (that's when I purchased!) and at one point even cheaper at Kohl's I think from a deal posted in SD Nov/Dec(?) (I didn't get to it in time!)

If you're not in a rush, your wait will eventually be rewarded; as with a lot of things I suppose. Smilie Still, Thumbs up! Thanks!

Editing: Apparently the one I got at Walmart for $124 is a less-feature one where this one has more! I do still have to say, this version DID still sell for less last year ($113 and $118 BOTH at Kohl's)!

Seems expensive considering it doesn't have a compressor to freeze the mixture as its churning (you need to refrigerate for 24 hours in advance). Might as well get something like this for $85 less https://www.amazon.com/Frigidaire...B08JGPPMCX

Nothing on Slickdeals will ever save you money. It's a bunch of gateway drugs of things you don't need but suddenly REALLY need. And like, it's on sale.

In all seriousness, making ice cream is negligible savings unless you're eating ice cream every day and then it'll take awhile. Heavy cream is expensive, as is quality fresh fruit, eggs or cream cheese (depending on recipe) etc. You get larger amounts than the pint you'd buy but it's not going to be a net gain.

If you want to try making ice cream tho, stop by goodwill a few times until a Cuisinart shows up that's in good condition. The Jeni's ice cream recipe is a great, easy one to start with.

ordered this yesterday since I keep spending money on nick's/rebel ice cream. I was able to ship to home without fee. Came to $156 after taxes.

Wally's version has only 5 options, Kohl's has 7 options. Makes a difference. We have the Kohl's 7 option version and LOVE it. Make low fat for some in the family, high fat for someone who needs the extra calories. Everyone can get their own flavors. We also make some sugar syrup to mix into the fruit for extra calories for the person who needs it and it works better than adding straight sugar (even the finest sugar settles at the bottom generally).

Also, if you add it to the cart, you can get 2 extra jars for $20 minus discount.
Sometimes BB&B has the 4 jars pack for $30. You may also get them discounted, but they rarely are available. Still better than having to ship from Ninja for extra shipping cost.

You could. But by then the 15%+15% may not be in effect. And if you're like us, a long ways from your nearest Kohl's store, then it's cheaper to just add it than drive there. Smilie

Oh I didn't realize that! We just use basic ones so the lower price was fine, especially for kids! I'll adjust my post! It still did sell for <$120 at Kohl's late last year, this same version. Smilie

We have had this 6 months or so and never use it. The only time we do, which has been maybe 5 times, is when we want to add a mix to our store bought ice cream.

I guess if you are one that currently makes their own smoothies and stuff like that, this is for you. Just hasn't clicked with us yet.

We found that we love the variety and the options of low fat / high fat, low sugar / high sugar, etc., but we haven't used it in the cold weather as much as we did when it was still warm (bought it last year toward the end of August, down here in the Deep South it was warm through most of December, so it got a lot of use).

Interesting. Never heard of this. Would this save money making your own ice cream compared to buying it at the store? More about making your own stuff fresh? Very tempting. Scratchchin

Not the cheapest at Kohl's it's been but still a decent price. The end of last year, I paid $133.33 after tax when I used one of their promo codes, plus got like $25 in Kohl's cash.
