I tried the pin method on my dad's samsung chromebook plus and it still asks for his google password every few days (or week or two at least) he says? Wonder if it's just when Google pushes updates or idk - he could be wrong.

I've run into this very situation myself. I couldn't come up with a workable solution.

I know Google is trying to play the "my OS is more secure than your OS" game with this "feature" but in the end, the user should be able to judge for themselves whether logging in is needed or not.

If anyone knows of a workaround for the password issue, some easy way to either stay logged in or maybe a way to copy and paste a password or just turning off the login altogether, please let us know.

I'm not sure.

I know that I was pushed an update shortly after I got it set up the evening I received it.

With my Samsung that is about 3 years old I have to sign in with my Google password.
But it is 3 years old.

You might be able to buy a YubiKey and use its static password feature [yubico.com]. Basically, plug the YubiKey hardware into a USB port and just tap the single button on the YubiKey and it'll type in a static password that you can use on your Google account. Problem solved! (maybe, I haven't actually tried this)

There wasn't anything better for the price before, and there definitely isn't now. It is definitely big and heavy because of the massive screen size and battery, but it is pretty thin at 0.78 of an inch thick. The only weakness is the 32GB eMMC, but the $26.99 256GB Samsung Micro SD I bought for it on Amazon is pretty fast and makes up for it. They also have a 128GB for $17.99.

You can set up a 6 digits passcode for chromebook. Check it out in the setting.

Can you configure Chromebooks to use the sd card as the system storage when installing new android apps? TIA
