No need, there is MicroSD slot.
There is no point to put premium storage into this cheap machine when it can' take advantage of fast transfer speed.

Can you configure Chromebooks to use the sd card as the system storage when installing new android apps? TIA
I'm new to Chromebooks but I enabled a setting under "external storage preferences" that saves my downloaded Spotify music, Netflix shows, and game data to the Micro SD, so maybe not the apps themselves, but their files.

I want to install Linux to replace the Chrome OS. If m.2 SSD cannot be used then I will pass. CPU and RAM is ok for programming under Linux but 32GB emmc is too little.

Chrome OS runs Linux. You can access the Linux subsystem directly from Chrome OS now

A:Answer The Chrome OS AUE(Auto Update Expiration) date is June 2029. The Chromebook will still work properly after this date.

Great price for a budget Chrome book for browsing the internet and checking emails. But don't expect more than that. Cons: 32GB eMMC is a deal breaker. Your storage would get pretty full in less than a year even with just the temp files from browsing and not just adding a bunch of apps. Since it's a Chromebook, it won't run anything that needs a Windows OS. So, this isn't something you can do school or office work on. Even if you add a 128 GB micro SD drive, it would not be able to read/write to it quick enough and probably slow down the running performance. And what is with the Intel Celeron N4500 2-Cores, 2-Threads (1.10GHz Base / 2.80GHz Boost) Processor? Even smart phones a few years old have a faster processor. This thing won't be of much use other than browsing the internet. But even your smart phone can do that better. The main thing going for this chromebook is the big screen size, which would be easier on older eyes, and with a keyboard, it'll be easier type up emails or enter inputs for browsing..
What the hell are you going on about? I'm able to do school and office work just fine. Canvas and Zoom work perfectly fine, it is after all the full Chrome browser. Google Docs and Microsoft Office 365 work just fine. Same thing with Spotify, Netflix, Prime Video. Hell even my Steam games played fine using my GeForce Now.

Actually I'm very surprised at how smooth this Chromebook performs, and I don't much miss Windows OS when I spend most of my school and work time using Chrome browser anyway.

The 32GB eMMC is the only weak point in my opinion, but I stream most of the time, and my offline media and game ROMs gets stored to my Micro SD, so not that big of an issue.

Personally, I rather have a 32GB eMMC with a Micro SD slot, than just a 64GB eMMC that is common with budget Chromebooks, and at $150, you can't do better than this.

I forgot to add that the screen is IPS, and that the speakers are surprisingly loud and well tuned. Not sure what the military spec entails but the build quality is pretty good. The large touchpad and gestures work pretty good as well and I haven't thought about bringing a mouse along. The numpad is 2/3 size for whatever reason, but I use StatCrunch a lot and I'm already used to it, and way better than nothing honestly.

Will this run uBuntu Linux? I was thinking to grab a unit. However, I notice the video processor is an Intel 5K and AFAIK Linux X11 Window Manager driver is pretty buggy on any Intel video processor that causes the unit to randomly freeze.
