Got one years ago at a random Walmart for store clearance of $10 if memory serves. Great price, great headset, should've bought another for backup but just the one has been kicking for years no problem.

I use it for gaming and it's lightyears ahead of old 3.5mm mics since that always picked up the fan noise of the laptop. USB is a blessing. Long cable too, I keep most of it still coiled with twisty tie next to the USB port.

Only issue is it can hurt my ears a bit after long term use especially when wearing hard metal frame glasses but maybe my massive melon is the problem. Smaller heads may be just fine.

These are my work's standard issue headset. Uncomfortable and cheap. Don't buy if you need something that you have to wear for any length of time.

Couldn't agree more. I was shocked at what a cheap POS this thing is. Even at this price, stay away.

I used this headset for a long time for Ventrilo, Mumble, Teamspeak, then briefly for Discord. It was fine for the price, but all the padded sections (earpads, padded headband) eventually broke down and the vinyl covering flaked everywhere. I was able to find replacement earpads on Amazon for pretty cheap, but I was never able to find anything for the headband and had to improvise something with weather stripping foam. This kept me going for a while, but then the volume control on the cord started acting up and the volume down button would get stuck on its own dropping headset/system volume to 0 repeatedly. I eventually replaced it with a new headset of the same model for around this price thinking they may have updated, but the second one developed all the same issues.

For the price, these have very good sound and very good noise reduction. The ear cushions do begin to make my ears hurt after a few hours. And the size adjustment on one side did break. Nonetheless, I liked it enough to buy it a second time and I may now buy a third to have an extra. Very good for the price in my opinion.

The fit on these sucks. My company bought our whole department these, and nobody uses them. Everyone went out of pocket and got something different.

An Office Depot was going out of business and doing "clearance sales" as they slowly closed. All "input devices" (keyboards, webcams, mice, and headsets) were marked 5% off for the first week... but, you know, since it was clearance, it was all marked UP before hand. So instead of the regular price of $39.99 for like this item, they were all marked up to some made up MSRP of like $59.99 then 5% off. The next week was 10%, and then 15%, 20%. Anyway, it's hilarious how many people go nuts for "clearance sales" that are like 5% - 20% off after being marked up like 30%. Literally 10 ream boxes of paper were cheaper at any local Staples but people were buying them up just because there was a sign that said clearance.

Anyway, I was thinking I'd get some Logitech stuff when it got cheaper, but it never even hit regular sales prices. They were all bought up before any hit a regular decent sales price. I think last I saw this headset it was at $39.99, basically, regular price at most places.

Also, funny how as soon as the store was "going out of business", tons of liquidation trucks pulled up everyday selling all sorts of random non-office products as "clearance"... Literally, it's like those oriental rug shops that are always on a going out of business sale... but somehow, they've been in their location for 20 years.

A group of us at the office have used these Logitech H390 headsets over the past year and a half, e.g. since the pandemic moved many meetings online. Typically we use them 12 to 18 hours a week, mostly for Zoom meetings but also occasional product or training videos. There is no music listening or gaming at work. In that scenario, the H390's have worked quite well. Sound quality is good and they are comfortable for one o two hours sessions. None of the headsets have failed so far. Considering our use, at $16 to $20 they have been an outstanding value. We got some more with this sale as spares and for new staff coming in.

Other headsets would likely be more appropriate for heavier use requirements, justifying a higher cost. Those that can't use H390's, please consider stating what other make/model you went for and what was your use scenario. That would help others with similar requirements in the SD community.

Are these good for Apex?

I don't play Apex but I played Overwatch, Red Dead Online, and use it for Discord. Sounds pretty good. May not be super duper loud or noise cancelling like a dedicated gaming headset that cups around your ears.
