First post but just got this in my inbox, thought other would want to know about it:

Dear My Best Buy® member,

Thank you for being a part of My Best Buy. We would like to inform you of the updated Terms and Conditions, including changes to the dispute resolution terms, coming to the My Best Buy program on May 3, 2022 (View updated My Best Buy program Terms here).

In an effort to simplify the program, we will be consolidating the Elite Plus, Elite and My Best Buy tiers into a single tier. On May 3, 2022, My Best Buy members in the Elite and Elite Plus tier will be moved into the standard My Best Buy program*.

We are also updating how points are displayed within the program. My Best Buy members will earn 1% back in rewards on qualifying purchases (0.5 points for every $1 spent) at Best Buy® and Participating Properties.

As a My Best Buy Credit Cardmember, you will earn 5% back* in rewards on qualifying net purchases (2.5 points for every $1 spent) at Best Buy and Participating Properties made with your Card when selecting standard credit. In addition, you will have the exclusive benefit of banking* your points until you're ready to issue a My Best Buy reward certificate. If your preferences are currently set to points-banking, we'll keep the preferences saved for you if your Card account remains open.

Thank you for being a My Best Buy Cardmember. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 1‑888‑BEST BUY (1‑888‑237‑8289).

Definitely was buying stuff at Best Buy over Amazon/Target/Newegg/Microcenter because of the program. Now that it's going away, almost every other retailer will have Best Buy beat on shipping so there's no other incentive. 5% back with their CC is basically what every other retailer offers as well so thats not even a benefit to me.
It's not completely going away, but it is definitely removing the incentive for people who actually do spend a lot there to continue doing so.

The 45-day extended return window was a HUGE factor for me (personally), even more so than free shipping or the points. I usually tried to buy appliances and items with pricing parity from BB just so I'd his my annual $3,500 (not hard to do if you buy at least 1 computer and 1 TV or game system per year).

With this, I'll just direct my $ elsewhere. They also remodeled the BB near me and cut WAY back on the # of SKUs offered and the actual retail floor area seems like it's been reduced considerably in favor of a larger stock room. So the fun of browsing a B&M store is diminished and it's now more reminiscent of the old catalog showrooms (Service Merchandise etc).

While I would assume we (Elite Plus peeps) will lose 1 day shipping and (more importantly) 45 day returns, has anyone confirmed this? I would assume since there's no spending threshold that we would lose it but perhaps they'll go to 30 days for everyone...well, one can hope.

I'm fine with 30 days but if my 45 day return policy becomes 15, I'm jumping ship for the devil (aka Amazon).

Same here, gave them thousands in business many years and put up with their (often) lousy operation for the sake of the perks. I especially like the price match program and the extended time they give elite members. Thats gone now, and i bet price match goes soon too. when it does, im outta here!

Moving the Total Tech membership further into the spotlight.
Honestly, not a bad deal for those making 1-2 major appliance purchases in the year. Came out on top buying a fridge, washer, dryer, and TV altogether. Bundle discounts + free installs + free mounting + expedited delivery + longer return window + 'GSP' included in the price now.
Balances out.

Not the same, for sure, but at least I won't have to spend the $3.5k/yr to get the benefits now.

While you do not pay for the core My Best Buy program I did make sure to spend $3500 a year (which was kind of a cost) where possible to reach the Elite Plus tier for the Free One Day shipping and 45 day returns and getting 6% back on the Best Buy credit card. Without the benefits or the incentive to hit that annual goal I will likely spend a fraction of that each year at Best Buy.

Exactly my thoughts....done with the credit card

Is the free shipping for Elite and Elite Plus staying? That's been great for under $35 purchases for things like Blu-rays or video games. Without that, I'll just stick to Amazon or price match to Target down the street.

While the 45 day return and free shipping were nice benefits, going back to a 14 day return is a huge compromise. That's shorter than pretty much any other retailer I use for most of my usual Best Buy purchases. Really hope they rethink this…

Well, guess I won't be so pressed to price match or shop with Best Buy. Gonna just order from the cheapest company that has the product.

I used to go through a lot of extra headache to drive my purchases through Best Buy, but at the least, this will save me some time and heartburn.

Even the airlines wait a year for significant changes to their loyalty programs to take effect once they're announced. This is obscene.

Very little reason to shop at best buy now. Their reps often intentionally disconnect chats when you try to get them to price match anyway, now I wont even bother checking the best buy price.

And now what, 14 day return policy across the board? Get f—d.
