First, I love Southwest. But to love Southwest you have to know how their pricing works.

Prices go up as more and more tickets are sold - one of several reasons.

Booking a trip to Disney in April. Bought tickets when they first came out in September for 18,000 points one way. The same exact ticket now costs 45,000 points one way. 20% off 45,000 is 36,000 points, which is twice the price I paid.

If you have to book last minute, 20% off is great. If you can plan way ahead, booking early is the best. Depending on the ticket level you buy, tickets are refundable. So if they really do go down in price or a promotion comes up, you can rebook.

op here. just so you all are aware, airfares have gone up 40% nearly tripling even in the last couple of weeks. my job looking for low airfares have been harder these days. you're not gonna see the low fares from several months ago much and i try my damn hardest to find them.

with this deal, you'll still save and with southwest, you get to cancel and get your points re-deposited if you cancel your travel plans.

Isn't that the case also with any airlines that sells tickets (cash value)?

They're releasing the next wave of inventory up to Thanksgiving period tomorrow morning at some point (typically between 8-10 AM it'll just appear), rare for a southwest promo code and that event to overlap. You can book anything as a placeholder considering their ease of change in case you're able to attend and, if not, cancel guilt-free.
Thanks for the head's up. I can start my holiday planning cause tickets are usually the best price when they first are released.

However, not sure this promotion helps as the fine print says it for travel between March 29 - May 25, 2022.
