Slight difference. Wanna Get Away (WGA) is returned in a flight credit good for 12 months from the date of purchase. All other class of tickets are refundable in original form of payment. Important difference for some.
WGA booked with points and then later canceled or changed are refunded in points

I'm talking about POINTS... which is the only way you can buy a ticket with this coupon. Points get returned to the original point holder, regardless of the name on the ticket, and they don't acquire an expiration date. So they are fully refundable.

Also, for anyone new to SWA,the flight credit you mention is tied to the named passenger. But anyone here to spend points probably knows that already.

Interesting, the upcoming WGA+ fare is also not fully refundable, but the travel funds can be transferred. That should be a good option for some.

One other interesting benefit with points.

You don't pay some taxes on your flight. So the value of your points is slightly higher on short flights, where taxes are a higher percentage of the total fare.

So it pays more to use them on cheap fares...as long as you don't need the tier qualifying credits.

It would actually be 5% savings in that case! Math is neat

This is a really good deal. Southwest almost never offered promo codes. Employees topically get 2-4 of these per year and I've never seen 20% given to anyone with points over the past ten years. Thanks for sharing!

Not a bad deal at all. Booked a weekend trip to Tampa for 21k points for the end of the month. This was already the cheapest option among United/American and this saved me an additional 20% in points.

Booked a couple non-stop one ways with points and the code worked for both.

The screen where you enter the code is the same one where you select the cities and dates of travel..

Coincidentally, a flight I booked about a week ago with points is about 20% more expensive now that this sale is on.

There are some 1 hour flights for me that would take 8-10 hours to drive. When you live around water, flying is a huge time saver.
