This set off my "Furry" alert. Disappointed.

I paid 175$ for crucial ballistix ddr4 3200 for 32gb last April. This doesn't seem too bad considering it's ddr5.

Agreed; I've been casually watching DDR5 prices since Alder Lake launched to plan my next build (go in with an AL/DDR4 mobo or make the leap to 5). Prices at $300+ recently kept me looking at DDR4 motherboards.

With below $300 now the mark, and low $200's at that... I may put DDR5 back in the "nice-to-have" section of the decision matrix (instead of crossed out altogether).

This is a nice surprise. DDR5 ramping up production numbers where the prices strive towards 'reasonable'.
Wait; wait.

I'm in the same boat.

Is this specific DDR5 even worth it for performance/gaming at a CAS latency of 40? Or is this for some other purpose?
