Costco is the place to get these, when they are on sale.
Battery life for the LG gram is insane. When they say 20 hours they are not kidding.

for me too. I had 30+ tabs open on my 17" with no issues... but i am going to en code video on 1 of them and expect great performance... probably not

sadly, there is always going to be a balance between price, power, form factor

if you want the best price, form factor, you will be lacking power. if u want best power and form factor, then you'll be lacking price... same as you want best price and form factor, you'll end up with a powerful 7lbs machine

as a balance, I think these are really good.

Good deal on a solid laptop. I actually prefer the smaller screen size because I tend to carry around laptops for work and 17" are just a bit too big to be comfortable.
The 17" version is so compact with tiny bezels, it fits into laptop cases intended for 15" laptops. I'm sure the same would apply to these 16" models.

Too bad no 17" models. 8GB RAM seems low, though.
If that extra 1 inch is that important to you (the 15.6 is practically that) then why not just get a docking station and an external monitor? Or even better, just get a portable projector. I figure you are getting a laptop for its portability, not its massive screen size. I suspect that 1 inch won't matter much in the course of ownership.

thats what LG gram is all about. Massive screen with portability. ofcourse every inch counts, but i understand portability means diff things to diff people. sure, 17in is 17in (until foldable is here, cant fit it in a purse) but to carry it around in house/office/wherever, its hard to believe, especially if you have ever handled a 17" laptop of yore.

I have a 19" Toshiba in storage somewhere that weighs in at a hefty 12 lbs. I made the mistake of buying it for college. Walking around the campus with it was tiring. The other benefit of a smaller screen is that you don't take up much desk space if you have the laptop docked on your desk. But, I understand some people do want that extra real estate. There are 3rd party solutions out there though. The 15" with 32GB is a great deal, so great that I'm contemplating my order of a Samsung (I have a credit from buying one of their phones).

Wow. They made 19" laptops? They should have had Arnold do their ads.

Still holding out for a deal on the (seemingly rare) 16" 2-in-1 variant. I have only ever seen it at Costco. I just left my local Costco and it's $1,699 there! If a good LG sale doesn't materialize soon I may get the new Galaxy Book Pro 360 15.6" with the brighter screen.

If you don't need 2in1, the 16" Gram is a heckuva deal!

Yes, I just returned from the local Costco. $1,099.99 for the 17" LG.

It was their gaming rig. It had dual drives, a bluray reader/writer, a separate graphics card, and was HD (1080 as was the standard back then). My favorite feature was the Bluray reader/writer as you could always use it to watch movies on your TV with an HDMI connection (granted now everything is wireless, but I just don't think wireless has the fidelity of a wired connection, just yet).

I went ahead and bought the 15" here. Samsung's $200 credit was not working for my purchase of the Galaxy Pro2 360 and having to trade in my device and only getting 16GB of RAM, it still came in over $800. I will miss out on the free 32" curved monitor that they offered with the pre-order, but I don't need another monitor. Oh well. Aside from the tablet mode with the pen, I think this is a better device.

How are you getting 20 hrs? I have a 15.6" I bought from Costco and on average I get about 8-9 hrs with 30% brightness and battery set to battery saver and just having my browser open. The first laptop was same thing too, so I returned it and got a 2nd one but this one the battery doesn't seem to last anywhere near the duration some people are claiming. I'm on windows 10 and I don't use it for gaming, just browsing or streaming.

Or you could buy the 17 because that's what you actually want..
