I just upgraded to this center during Adorama's last sale maybe two months ago (same price). It was an upgrade from a Reference level center and a vast improvement (seems obvious but I figured I would note it in case someone is in the same situation I was). I currently have it paired with RP-260f as my front L/R mains and RP-150m as surrounds and it is excellent.
For those who aren't as familiar with the product, I encourage you to pay close attention to the dimensions of the speaker. It is decently large and will sound best with some room to breathe behind it, not pushed up against the wall. This might be a deal breaker for some who don't have that kind of room to spare in their space.
For those who are not familiar with the Klipsch brand/sound, they have a very bright sound profile that some love and others love to hate. If you haven't heard them before and have the opportunity to demo before you buy, I would encourage anyone interested in investing in the RP line of products to listen to them in advance to see if you find them to be too harsh.
All said and done, I'm very happy with this center channel performance. I wouldn't pay more than $300 for it since it seems to go on sale pretty regularly and that is a very reasonable price for this model.
I have had this center channel for a few years, it is nearly the same as the newer 504c, only difference is the style and the tweeter is apparently vented on the new model. Many people do not realize that the RP-450C is a three way design, yes, it has two different frequency response ranges for the inside pair of versus the outside pair of woofers. All other reference premier speakers that have dual woofers are two way speakers.
When used as a dedicated center channel, the dialogue in movies is exceptionally crisp and clear, so when sources are in surround modes, you will love the dialogue clarity this speaker can provide. I highly recommend this speaker for anyone building a home theater or looking for an upgrade.
I have one of these in cherry I got open box through Amazon a few weeks back for the same price. I love Klipsch and was pretty much only going to buy this once it was at this price, don't think you can do a whole lot better. I also just got the matching RP-280s and they sound great. The new models that still sell for much higher are basically the same except for a change to the tweeter that you may or may not even be able to tell the difference from soooo. Unless you can find one on craigslist or something comparable this is as good a price as I have seen recently and you probably won't ever need to buy one again *shrug*
Also yeah it's huge and heavy. And if you are that concerned about the color, buy some vinyl wrap or something..no point paying a bunch more when you can make it any color you want!

Dammit! I just bought Cherry version for $315 ish from Amazon Warehouse weeks ago. I was literally waiting for weeks and weeks for a deal like this to come. Good for anyone that picks this up.

Couldn't agree more. I bought one a couple years ago paired with some 280a mains and a pair of Monolith 15's and it's an excellent sounding setup. Vocals are crystal clear and full range

In 2019 i upgraded to this, and lately i still find the dialogue drowned out. I even have it +3.5 on my denon settings for dialogue. Would this speaker be a ton better?
