Not necessarily. It may be Amazon disposing of chocolate before warm weather hits. If it is close, pop it in the freezer. It keeps very well in the freezer.

in for 2, the "FRESHNESS" Date doesn't bother me (these products don't expire like milk and eggs)

I thought..... Woot..... food.... is this like Halloween candy or something?

That said, candy doesn't go bad, as in, rotten. The chocolate might get chalky over a very long time, or it might get stale (taste/texture is affected), but it won't go rancid.

I buy "expired" food all the time at job lot stores. The usual one is cereal, they tend to sell (along with regular cereal), the holiday stuff. So right now they are selling Christmas cereal cheap, it's very common to find that and other food that's beyond the BB date. But heck, it's cereal - it's not going to spoil.

Are you talking about ocean state job lot? Never seen them seel stuff past the best buy date. I remember they had these low carb noodles on thier crazy deal display and really liked them, they had a ton in stock. But when I went back to get more a few weeks later they were all gone, not because they sold, but because they reached the best buy date on the package.
