I don't do dovetails or fancy joints like that so my opinion may not mean much, but I was happy with these.

I've used them a number of times, most recently to clean up half lap joints that I started on the table saw. It worked perfectly fine. I did take less than 5 mins to sharpen the tips on a cheap sharpening stone from harbor freight.

I would recommend for the diy woodworker

Anyone know the best way to get the perfect angle when sharpening chisels? I've got some classic Marples from England but they've gotten dull... I just don't want to screw them up.

Thanks OP! I was actually looking for a chisel set 2 weeks ago for my TV lift-cabinet project. I couldn't decide between this Stanley set ($13) and the 4-piece DeWalt ($31) when I was at Home Depot. Hadn't shopped at Ace Hardware for a year, and found out I had a $5 certificate expiring in May, so it was an easy purchase.
