Not a bad price for name brand, but it's much more economical to buy bulk "melamine sponges" for a fraction of the price per sponge. It's the same thing. I got a 100pk of generic 3 years ago and still have some left.

you may have gotten lucky with your generic melamine sponge purchase, like many generic-china-product-knockoff purchases it's the luck of the draw what you get - every time I've gotten the generic melamine they are cr-p that falls apart almost immediately upon use, compared to the original name brand. whether it's more economical to buy 100 bulk generic for the same price as 40 namebrand but they only last 20% as long each or whatever i'm not sure. I'm pretty cheap but for a few cents per sponge i'd just as soon avoid the hassle and get the original and not have to worry about luck of the draw.

incidentally, the coupon did not appear for me for this one. bummer.

Maybe but in my experience even the magic eraser brand fell apart quickly.

I'm not knocking the deal, it's still a great price, I was just pointing out another way to save money.

point taken. i guess with the way quality control is or isn't these days it's a crap shoot even with the name brand if you get a good batch or a lemon. I guess if you end up with a lemon be glad its just melamine sponges and not your pacemaker or the parts for the aircraft engine of the plane you're flying on! Some quality control is more critical than others! Wink

I'd be afraid of it scratching. As with most things like this follow the instructions that say to test on an inconspicuous area first
