For Dominion in South Carolina add SAVE40 as the promo to take it down to $30 or $90 for the learning.

I have the metal google nest. I've had to RMA it twice now, the first time was because it stopped blowing cold air (old thermostat worked fine) . The second time I had the HVAC guys out because my ac compressor kept ticking when it rand and when it was off. They pulled the thermostat and yet again put my old one on and everything was fine. Just recently it stopped working again. My brother is law's works just fine though. So just bad luck on my part? Anyway, hvac guys said ecobee was the way to go.

ecobee has remote sensors that are handy when your heat/cool zones are large and span several rooms - this would ensure one room doesn't get too hot/cold.

That said I just sold a home with 2 zones: 2nd floor, and pfin basement/1st floor - forced air. Such a temperature disparity wasn't really a problem for us and I had 2 Sensi ST75's.

With Texas deregulated you're less likely to see thise sorts of promos... but enjoy the energy cost savings.

Real shame is FL, where monopoly power companies continue to flex political muscle to push prices to some of the top in the nation and stamp out consumers ability to control costs with renewable energy.

It's not only Neat that's included in this promo. In Conneticut, for example, it included Ecobee as well. A total of 4x choices.

Yes such tstat deals are always available to some extent, although in the past (CT/Eversource) I have gotten Sensi ST75 (the nicer touchscreen model) for $15/ea, and Google Nest/Home Mini "bundles" for $5/ea. You just have to wait around for the promotion stack ups. Occasionally they will also have deals on other items like light bulbs or air purifiers. I got a couple bundles of LED bulbs and desk lamps for $5/ea, and Winix air purifiers for $80/ea (retail was $200+). I haven't seen those deals come back though.

In my previous home with the ST75's I enrolled in Eversource's Connected Solutions - which is where they can resource level (control your tstat) in the summer - $25 to enroll and $20/tstat/season (Amazon GC). Easy $40/yr with basically zero inconvenience for me.

In the new place I have forced water (boiler) and it's older so the ~ 5 zones don't have C wires, but I'll eventually rewire these locations and use smart tstats there as well, perhaps the Google Nest's I have kicking around.

CMAFR. I live in CT and pay nearly $0.25/kWh (taking into account ALL charges on the bill not just generation and delivery). Even if I use the Google, I get current average CT price is $0.216/kWh and FL is nearly half that at $0.1137

It wasn't exactly free but 6.99 for taxes. I could not tell by the description if this was the Nest that does not require a C wire. But for 7 bucks I think it was worth the risk.

I wasn't charged shipping just taxes. $7 for a $100 item is not a bad trade-off at all.

I'm at $0.168/kwh...

But that's not what I paid... I paid $33 for 41kwh.

This, we always get stuck with a ridiculous amount of tax and shipping.
