Physical books are your property. Digital copies of the books are not. You only own the rights to a version of the digital copy. That copy may be updated, modified and/or removed at anytime by the publisher..

Some folks like the feel of a physical book. You buy what you want, and so will we.

No

Get a kindle, the e-ink type. They are very easy on the eyes, and use of electronic device for reading is typically better for the environment. If you have trouble reading the text due to font size, you can increase it significantly. Just being mindful of old age....

A digital copy can be backed up (as others mentioned, DRM stripped), and can be stored offsite. Avoiding books burnings. Access is also a lot easier.

For some select books, I buy physical. Usually like a collector's item, signed or unavailable digitally (like a lot of books do this to avoid piracy I presume). I try to buy physical books as sparingly as possible, because they generate odor, takes up space in my home and contributes to dust/clutter and can't easily be accessed on the go and can be environmentally unfriendly.

We don't want a digital copy. If we did, we would be purchasing them. Got it?

I've cycled through Kindles for the past decade but I still buy some paperback books, especially ones that have illustrations or diagrams/maps and would look bad in black and white or on a screen (House of Leaves is a good example).

For the ones that are pure text, the only time I buy them paperback is if I absolutely loved the book and want a signed (preferably first edition) copy. For example, The Martian by Andy Weir and Dark Matter by Black Crouch. I collect them like vinyl basically.

Instead of buying a $100 tablet to read a $10 book I'll just buy the $10 book

The selection is so random. They have some low prices but I'm not sure I can find enough to reach the $35 free shipping.

Yep, not interested in digging through the site looking for random stuff.
