I was of a similar mindset before calculating out the operating and maintenance costs and well as opportunity cost regarding electric vs gas. In my case, when considering fuel to run the mower, fuel for vehicle to drive to get the fuel for the mower, opportunity cost of time lost to traveling to get fuel for mower, if the battery lasts me 3 years I've broken even or come out ahead in relation to a gas mower. Also consider oil changes, air filters, spark plugs, fuel filters, etc., and the time spent on those maintenance items.

I am going on 4 years with mine (non self-propelled). Haven't noticed a significant difference in the battery. I have a larger lawn. Use two 5 Ah batteries, one for the front and one for the back. No oil to change or gas to buy. Best lawn mower I've ever owned. Just start it up at the beginning of the season and go.

Damn was hoping these would be in the $350 range soon, don't think that will happen ever. Only hope is clearance deals. Will have to stick to my gas Honda for longer. Frown

Debating select cut v non select cut. Both have 7.5 battery. $100 difference. I do plan to use the mulch option

Yep, you're absolutely right. You can see it if you look in the Specs section, too. Can't believe they haven't fixed the title after all this time, that makes a huge difference to most. Thanks!

I have been in the market for an electric mower and was waiting for a sale on the EGO mowers since they seem to be the most highly rated. Hoping it's worth the money to last quite a few years.
