I need help , I am newbie to games. Trying to avoid crazy price for XBOX , my 10 year kid want to buy xbox but i am thinking to buy say android box and play xbox pass on that . How I can do it ? and which device/android box will be good.

My son is also not very deep in gaming / doesnt care much about graphics for now so looking for something basic not extra ordinary. Any help is appreciated.

What? A series s is like $250. What is an android box? Are you talking about chromecasts? You can't play gamepass on those yet

Just like the other person commented. Get a series S. It was made for xbox game pass. This Android game thing sounds like you can only play the Xbox games that are compatible with your phone. Series S is ready to go right away. No tweaking settings or wondering if it's going to work with certain games. Just need to download your games. As long as you have good internet the games download pretty quickly on the solid state drive.

The android boxes (like the shield pro) are gonna run about $150 and require a lot of tech "savvyness" on the users end to get it up and running. It's easy enough to do (YouTube) but is it worth it to save $100? That's not for me to decide.

Just reiterating what's already been said here, the Xbox Series S will be the fastest/easiest/most trouble free way to get your kid set up with Game Pass, and it will also have better hardware so it will last longer and perform better.

Yes, there are Android boxes that can technically hook up to Game Pass but it's not a great solution and won't work as well. Any 3rd party console is going to have lower quality hardware and slower processors so you're going to end up with framerate issues, possible freezing, bad draw-in distances, and just a worse experience overall.

I'd highly suggest just setting up a SlickDeals deal alert for "Xbox Series S" and then buying one when it's on sale.

Cool, good choice. Tons of games available for the PS4 and new ones still coming out all the time. There will probably be a bunch of PS4 game sales around Black Friday this year so set up some deal alerts and you can pick up some cheap Christmas presents Smilie
