Yeah, I did the $20 plan, turned data off (no surprises), and just had the on phone wifi the few times I turned the phone on.
So during this time you essentially did not take out the SIM but just turned on the phone a few times to make sure that there is a heartbeat back to Fi Service. Unlike a user here who suggested that you can remove the SIM and put it away while using the phone with another SIM does void the promotion I'd guess.

You don't even have to remove the sim. You can get your main wireless provider to activate the esim.

For me it happened during the payment process. There was a screen where you can type in a promo code.
So you have to do this when ordering the phone? Is it too late when you're activating service?

Also, did you guys get phones with the SIM card already in the phone?

Yeah it only asks during the checkout process. It's probably too late but wouldn't hurt to ask their CS.

The phone comes with the SIM inside.

I actually just completed the boost mobile $1 sim to google fi over the weekend.

Keep in mind that you'll need to call boost mobile after receiving their to get the port out pin so that you can complete the port.

Best of luck!

Thank you, how long did you wait after activating the Boost Mobile service? What do I need to ask for when I call?

Is phone number the account number or they will provide a separate account number also ?
Also, were they difficult to deal with ?

Right, I just left the FI sim in the phone and parked the phone for 3 or 4 months. Taking out the FI sim and going 3 to 4 months within the FI sim registering on the FI network seems a little risky in my opinion.

I chat with CS after receiving the phone and was told he had applied the credit. I just found a random code on reddit. Good luck!
