Google's New Math? That's an illogical reason for rejecting your trade-in.

Your math is right. Taxes are your local sales tax on $300 and several people reported $5 tax for each month's $20 plan.
I can confirm taxes... in San Jose, CA - it came to $5.45 for total of $25.45 per month.

Thanks. Another question. I am new google fi customer. so, If I want, I can go for group plan of 4 lines and get $500 on each line, right? The math would be-

4+ (4*300) + (80*4) = 1524 + tax.

Promo terms says -

For individual plans, limit one per person. For group plans, limit one per group plan member.

Meaning each member in the group plan can take this promo. correct?

I don't know what defines "each member of the group". Do they each need a different google ID, or different name, street addresse, etc.

That's correct. Did that already.

Thank you. Do they see for usage, like the minutes, data, texts etc every day? I and my family will not be using these lines as primary phones, but will make sure these are turned on most of the time during the 4 months/until cancellation. Will that suffice or there are chances that google fi charges back the discounted amount saying we are not using the devices?

well for your reference I ordered it on April 9 it shipped on Apr 12, was suppose to delivery on Apr 15 and it never show up.. call multiple time to Fedex/Fi Fedex finally declare they lost the phone so now I need to wait for resent

Apparently there's a lot of Fedex issue,,,if you check reddit.

P.S> people keep complaining about Fi support I have zero problem get them to call me back and they do response pretty quick on my issue. It took 48 hours after Fedex confirmed that the package is lost and they let me know they will send me a replacement one.
That's one of my fears, I have read about all those shipping issues as well. Sounded like a lot of phones were mysteriously disappearing, and either not arriving at all or showing up as an empty box.

Fi will either be really great, or you'll fall into a black hole where you get no help at all. I've experienced both extremes in the past. I wouldn't relax until you actually have a tracking number for the replacement.

Unfortunately they're not always reliable. My green 256gb S22's delivery dates changed a dozen times and I had no idea in the end when it was going to ship until a day before it actually shipped. I only knew it was shipping because my CC was charged the day before. I still checked every day too lol.
Thanks! The date just changed today from May 18 to May 11, and there's a pending charge on my card now that wasn't there before. Hoping that's a good sign.

Nice! I'd trust that means it'll ship tomorrow. I've placed a few phone orders from Google Fi this year, because I couldn't make up my mind. They were all delayed but they all shipped within a day of my CC being charged for real. The other thing that changed was the status on the website. It went from:
Quote :
You can cancel your order or change your shipping address until your order goes to our warehouse for packing. This normally takes an hour but can be longer.
to:
Quote :
We'll email you when your shipment is on its way
Plus the cancel button was gone.

Question guys, I want to get an unlocked samsung s22 for 300. I don't mind porting in my number to Google fi but....will I need to use that cellphone for 120 days in order to get the 500 usd discount???. Or it will be ok if I just give that cellphone away and put the sim card on my current cellphone. I really want to give this phone to my little cousin in Cuba. Let me know if anyone has experience with this. Will they charge me those 500 discount if somehow they find I stopped using that cellphone and I'm using another???. Thanks in advance

You "lose" the discount if you use the SIM card in any other phone than the one shipped with the SIM.

From what I have read here, you can activate the SIM/phone and then remove the SIM, but the SIM cannot be used in another phone for 4 months. You will still have to pay the bill for 4 months even though you are not using it.

The phone itself can be used with any other SIM during that period, but again, the original SIM card cannot be used in any other phone.

This has been mentioned several times in this thread and/or the other thread for the Pixel 5a.

I can do this, right? Get a new number from boostmobile for $0.99 (first month) and port in to this before the first month ends? Pay google $20+tax for 4 months for the basic plan and cancel afterword's, correct?

so, approx. total cost for unlocked s22 would be 1+300+80 = 381 + taxes. Math right?
Couldn't you just get a free number from Google Voice and port that in? Just saved you 0.99 LOL

There are several posts in this thread saying you have to pay $3 to unlock your GV number before you can use it for porting.
