Good to know, especially since Skil has a 5 year warranty. What was the issue with your power drill? My chuck doesn't have a good bite on drill bits, they keep getting stuck in the wood.

Previously grabbed the 12v combo, which itself was great (solid build quality and the halo light was solid), except the impact driver motor felt lackluster. I wasn't expecting 18V or 20V power output, but it wasn't responsive, and took some time to wind up before driving.
The reason some folks look down on Skil is quality. 25 years ago when I was just starting out as a poor homeowner I bought a Skil drill/driver from Walmart. It didn't last too long. Maybe they've improved, but you do get what you pay for. Milwaukee is my brand and have worked their tools hard over the years and they are still going strong.
