I've had the opposite experience. Will buy again and again.
Ordered 2 more. Going to love getting rid of my moms chinese food containers.
These are the only plastic containers I'd buy. They are recommended by Americans Test Kitchen and really don't stain.

It says only the lids are BPA free on Amazon.

I don't know about you guys but from the last few years and reading everything about plastics (even being found in everyone's lungs), I'd opt for glass tupperware that have BPA free lids. Heating up plastic in a microwave can't be good for you. It's probably why sperm counts are half of what they were in the 70's.

These turn out cracked and ugly within 6 months. I wasn't even using a dishwasher but handwashing them. This "Brilliance" series sucks - I got them as soon as they came out.

Just get glass containers. They're a lot better.

"BPA free" is a marketing gimmick. The overwhelming majority of plastics manufacturers switch to BPS because of this, which is just as bad or even worse for leaching estrogenic chemicals. But they can say "BPA free" and sell to gullible masses.

Is the Costco set better?
Sorry it took me so long to answer.

The Costco set is 20 pieces. The one I have been using was 18.

The current one:

Includes:
(2) 0.5 Cup Plastic Food Storage Containers with Lids
(2) 1.3 Cup Plastic Food Storage Containers with Lids
(2) 3.2 Cup Plastic Food Storage Containers with Lids
(2) 4.7 Cup Plastic Food Storage Containers with Lids
(2) 9.6 Cup Plastic Food Storage Containers with Lids

From my current set, one of the black hinges got loose and the company asked for a picture & recept (I got it from Costco in 2018 & they printed the receipt for me.)

I just got email that replacement lids is on the way

I bought these from a Walmart deal back in December 2019 with the hopes of them lasting a while and not being as bad as "normal" plastic. I think I went ahead and bought another 4 containers after the first ones I bought in 2019 seemed to be holding up. A few months later everything started falling apart on me... lol :

A couple of months ago, I started noticing the fracturing/cracks on the containers that seem to be getting worse. Not on all, but a few. I use them in the microwave as well as use the dishwasher top rack to wash them. As for not staining, it's weird because of the 6-8 containers I use regularly, probably 3-4 definitely have stains on them (turmeric stains) and are impossible to clean. I've tried every baking soda, vinegar, oxy, etc. trick, but nope... that stain is stuck. I probably wouldn't recommend these as I don't know what's causing the cracking - maybe cycling from cold refrigerator to hot in the microwave - not sure. I'm still thinking about getting a few of the glass versions, though since I do like the lids and venting mechanism.

It's not really YMMV. Amazon is just matching Target and the 15% off coupon they have on kitchen products right now.

Most of my local Target stores have no or limited (1 piece) stock. Time to check the clearance aisle next time I visit. Target.com will still ship it for $16.99
