IOW, when Office 2024 (or whatever) comes out you don't get to upgrade to it. However, you will still receive security, bug, and critical updates to your Office 2021 for the life of the product (thru Oct 13, 2026).
Also, read the ONE COMPUTER part as something that you control. If a computer that you had this Office 2021 on dies, you are fully able to license the same Office 2021 on a new computer, provided you log into your Microsoft account and remove the old computer activation. It's a full retail license that is fully transferrable - as long as it's only on one computer at a time.
AlsoĀ², If you already have (or have had) a Microsoft account tied to a subscription Microsoft product (Office365/Microsoft365) Microsoft may not allow you to use that account for perpetual products (although this isn't explained when you try to use it). Just create a new, free Microsoft account and activate it that way. You can use the key you receive for any valid email address (regardless of the email address you enter when purchasing the Office 2021 Pro).

this is absolutely not true of "all" MS products.
Preinstalled OEM MS software is explicitly tied to ONE piece of HW- the one it was sold with.

FWIW Oct 13, 2026 appears to be when Office 2021 (what this deal is for) will be retired for support.
The question that I have is: If I upgrade a parts on the Computer is it still the same Computer, and at what point of parts replacement does the Computer is classified as a new Computer?
This has been the case for decade+.
Office 2003, 2007, 2010,....2019, 2021 all lifetime.
Each of these have been on sale in this price range, too.
Memorial Day, Back to School, Black Friday, etc usually sees sales on these.
NOT continuously updated with the very latest features, usually a few times a year only.
Office 365 = Subscription.
Stop paying and it stops working.
Has the very latest features updated continuously.
Some go for it for the 1tb+ online onedrive storage, but this isn't Office and there's cheaper ways to get 1tb of online cloud storage.
Usually, students can get this free if the school has a 365 site license.

Gray keys - keys that work, but might not be used within the licensing agreement of the company that initially bought them - are even cheaper. Just search "Microsoft Office keys" for the $5-10 keys.
Eg company buys 1000 keys for 990 PCs. The extra 10 keys find their way to these gray shops.
Keep in mind that the latest 2021 keys will be more expensive than 2019/2016 keys of you're going with the Microsoft Office ProPlus keys vs 365. Unless you absolutely need the latest features, 2019 cheaper can be worth the added savings over 2021 keys.

This is addressed in the link 4 posts above your post, though AFAIK is only relevant for operating system OEM licensing, not other software
If the motherboard is upgraded or replaced for reasons other than a defect, then a new computer has been created. Microsoft OEM Windows Desktop Operating system software cannot be transferred to the new computer, and new operating system software is
required.

But it's an easy call to get that license reactivated on your PC - simply explain you had to replace a part that broke.

Virtual any App and your can stick it in a usb drive and run Your apps in any PC without installing regardless of how many parts you change.
Vmware.com and Turbo.net can do this.

Very convenient when virtualization an entire OS.
E.g. I have an entire install of windows 10, totally clean, + tax software for years virtualized.
Done with taxes? Archive that image unhook next year and you know it's clean and ready for the next year's tax software. And years of tax docs and such don't get lost because it's all kept in one virtual pc image.

Selling keys you formally agreed would only be used for employees to a third party under the table sounds a lot more like a civil offense than a criminal one.
It would interesting to know what unique part of the system do they use as the "host key". If it's the MAC address or hard drive serial number, those can be cloned on a new system but I wouldn't clone it if it causes other problems

If only someone had addressed this exact question- twice- including linking to and quoting Microsofts own documentation on OEM licensing.
