Lifetime for THE COMPUTER you install this on. It's non-transferrable. (Updates are apparently included) I'm seeing regular price between $69-99.

The free updates don't include upgrades.
IOW, when Office 2024 (or whatever) comes out you don't get to upgrade to it. However, you will still receive security, bug, and critical updates to your Office 2021 for the life of the product (thru Oct 13, 2026).

Also, read the ONE COMPUTER part as something that you control. If a computer that you had this Office 2021 on dies, you are fully able to license the same Office 2021 on a new computer, provided you log into your Microsoft account and remove the old computer activation. It's a full retail license that is fully transferrable - as long as it's only on one computer at a time.

Also², If you already have (or have had) a Microsoft account tied to a subscription Microsoft product (Office365/Microsoft365) Microsoft may not allow you to use that account for perpetual products (although this isn't explained when you try to use it). Just create a new, free Microsoft account and activate it that way. You can use the key you receive for any valid email address (regardless of the email address you enter when purchasing the Office 2021 Pro).

I purchased from here in mid April. Last week my installation suddenly restricted my access as unlicensed. I called Microsoft support and they tried to help but unable to saying something to the effect this was MSDN licensed and ultimately I would have to contact the seller. I do not recommend this deal.

So if I get a new computer and want to move Office from my old computer to the new, would I be out of luck? I bought Office a while back and was able to re-install when I got a new computer, so why wouldn't this be any different?

It wouldn't.

As already explained about 873 times in the thread, but nobody reads back more than 2 posts and so we keep getting the same questions over and over.

OEM preload licenses -like if you bought a new PC with Windows preloaded- that would be an OEM license for Windows and can not be transferred to new systems.

Retail licenses can be.

Went in on the softkeyworld deal instead; got the license key within minutes of having completed my order; key successfully added to my MS account so that I can then be allowed to download the install file.

Did you have any issues activating? When I've purchased from similar sites, automatic activation rarely worked. Had to go through an (automated) phone activation, which worked but was tedious.
It activated online, I didn't have to call them. To link to your Microsoft account, use setup.office.com.

I don't understand all the good feedback.......I bought the program this morning (with code $31.99) and was a quick email response for the install. Entered the code and received an code error with a phone number. Spoke to someone that stated someone would call back and they did....BUT the "tec" was leading through the process of getting into my computer. When I explained he wouldn't allow allow him in to go and hire someone to get it working and hung up. Something isn't right about this outfit.

I posted back on page 7. Gotta love this thread running wild.
Also makes me think that SoftKey website must be scratching their heads as to why all of a sudden, sales went through the roof (due to posting here and Reddit?). They're smiling all the way to the bank.

I used the MEP1 code. I got the discount. I received email confirmations immediately, but the link & key codes came the next day.
I installed it on my new (to me) laptop with a newly upgraded Windows 11. Went in perfect. I manually had it check for Office updates. It found and applied them. I haven't checked my MS Account to see that they were linked.

I do have older versions of Office. On CDs. laying around. it's just easier to download the electronic version. My new laptop doesn't have a CD/DVD player and I dont have an external. Sure I can work around that but I dont want to hassle with it.
This deal wasn't front page when I posted the Softkey link with the 20% off code. LMAO Someone else found the 35% off code so I added it to the Wiki. Why pay $50 when you get get it for less than $30!

I also have several copies of Office beginning in 2007. Still running 2010 on 2 older laptops. I had 2019 on my newest laptop but uninstalled and loaded the Softkey 2021 version back in January.

You're welcome SoftKeyWorld!

Edit: I just realized you're the one who posted the 35% off code. I added it to the Wiki & thanked you! I believe that's the same code I used when I bought mine months ago. Good find!

A possible FYI about the gray market keys. My key is tied to my MS Store account (you cannot find it on the Office.com or your Outlook account directly). Just did a reinstall and also got a new computer and was able to reinstall without issues. Maybe these guys work the same way (I bought it elsewhere sometime ago).

Please pay attention - I just installed this on the laptop I'm about to switch from...but thankfully I'm carrying my HDD and SSD over. Otherwise, you're stuck with it on one computer, just as you would be if you bought it at the store.

Outlook is part of the Office suite. Excellent email & calendar management. I would have paid $50 for it alone.

That's not how hardware locked software works.
