The free updates don't include upgrades.
IOW, when Office 2024 (or whatever) comes out you don't get to upgrade to it. However, you will still receive security, bug, and critical updates to your Office 2021 for the life of the product (thru Oct 13, 2026).

Also, read the ONE COMPUTER part as something that you control. If a computer that you had this Office 2021 on dies, you are fully able to license the same Office 2021 on a new computer, provided you log into your Microsoft account and remove the old computer activation. It's a full retail license that is fully transferrable - as long as it's only on one computer at a time.

Also², If you already have (or have had) a Microsoft account tied to a subscription Microsoft product (Office365/Microsoft365) Microsoft may not allow you to use that account for perpetual products (although this isn't explained when you try to use it). Just create a new, free Microsoft account and activate it that way. You can use the key you receive for any valid email address (regardless of the email address you enter when purchasing the Office 2021 Pro).

I purchased from here in mid April. Last week my installation suddenly restricted my access as unlicensed. I called Microsoft support and they tried to help but unable to saying something to the effect this was MSDN licensed and ultimately I would have to contact the seller. I do not recommend this deal.

Nope..This is different from office 365 ( which is a web based version ). This is an installed version which is a one time payment for a license key that allows you to use the product on one machine.

bought it from softkeyworld.. got an email receipt and that's it.. is the link gonna email containing the link to download come later or instant?


nvm... take 10 minutes for the purchase to process and complete.. received email with code to redeem on Microsoft

I ended up purchasing this and I see you get a single key for one machine... Does anyone know if this key will still work if you reformat your pc?

So I cloned my hard drive to an SSD on my old computer, put that harddive in my new computer and I'm still using office. You can transfer it, just need to move or clone the hard drive if you want a new computer

Yes, it still work because this license key will redeem in your Microsoft account. After redeem it then it will stay in your Microsoft account forever. Just login your ms account to activate office.

From a UX perspective, yes. If they haven't done that by now, I can see that being available later this year (if the right person gets word or if they hire a MS Office specialist in the design area to update those abilities for the whole suite.) If Apple and Google can do it then so can they.

When you buy it, make sure you are ready to activate right away. I waited a couple of hours and got an error that the code was already used. Contacted support and they sent me a new code.
Total was 27ish.
