If you use alexa products already even better as its connects without issues to alexa.
Installation is pretty straightforward and if you have issues call amazon support, they will help or route you to the hardware support which I cannot for the life of me remember the name but they were super helpful. I had a wire crossed wrong and they did some troubleshooting and got it working as expected.
My only issue is that its not smart at all. If you set it for the Home/Away/Sleep like I do it will turn the AC or Heater on without needing to.
By this I mean I have it 68 when home, 78 when away.
If I leave the geo location turns on the away mode which says it needs to go to 78 quickly and burn electricity to heat up the house to 78....defeats the purpose if you ask me.
Gave feedback, hopefully they will update in a future firmware release.
Its honeywell backend hardware so imagine their cheapest product, thats what you got.

How many wires are running to your thermostat - how many conductors?Usually 4 is the minimum for heat + AC. There may be a fifth wire either connected or loose (but tape off). If it's lose it may have power. If you have an extra wire, and it doesn't have power, you may be able to connect it power from the equipment.
Source: that's what I did on my 22 year old HVAC with 5 wire cable, but only 4 connected.
If you don't have a C wire, you may be able to use an external transformer. That's what I did in my old apartment with no access to the equipment and an Ecobee. You have to make sure you get the phase right.
