To clarify, this soundbar does NOT have a built-in Roku player, it can ONLY be used with your existing Roku TV. I don't think it will work with any other Roku device/streamer type.
This works ONLY if you have a Roku TV but is awesome if you do not want to be bothered with multiple remotes, turning on / off the soundbar, etc. You plug it in to the wall (no other cables or ports), run a very quick pairing mode. Your Roku TV then uses this as speakers and disables the TV's crappy onboard speakers. After the initial setup you never had to worry about the sound bar again as it is paired to the TV.
I love this sound bar. Yes there are better sound bars out there but they have their own remote, config, messing with different volumes, trying to make them work with all your TV inputs (like game systems) can be a pain, you might not have a free HDMI port for the best experience, etc. This simplifies things like that stupid cooking appliance informercial....."set it, and forget it!"

I have a Roku TV and I'd be interested in this but it only talks about connecting via WiFi. I connect my TV via Ethernet, does the bar and sub connect via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth? I live in a college campus so connecting via Wi-Fi while possible is a real pain.

You're right. Here's the literature from the below-linked product description:
Does not work with other TVs, Roku streaming players, or Roku Wireless Speakers

Sorry for no knowledge for the Roku thing. Using Google TV or Amazon fireTV etc.
