I had the Yamaha, the Denon, and this Onkyo from Costco. Out of the three, I kept the Onkyo as it had the best feature set and the least issues. The Yamaha had the best sound, and the Denon was the worse all around (but still pretty fantastic on its own).

Does Costco price match past purchases? Bought this 3 weeks ago at full price and wondering if I could get it matched.

Edit: NVM, found the price adjustment tool on their site.

This receiver has been great so far, so this seems like a good deal

I mean you could do this but you would have to enable HDMI Sound passthrough. It really isnt the intended purpose though and you are better off buying an HDMI switch.

Onkyo won this round. Yamaha doesn't have as many features.

I have the denon and I can't decide whether I should keep it or not.
If the Denon functions and sounds good to you, there's no reason to switch. Seems like all 3 of these receivers have their advantages and disadvantages. I tend to concentrate on center channel dialog clarity and how a receiver handles USB playback. Some feel that room correction software is important but I always end up making my own adjustments anyway. They all sound pretty good with music but can sound very different decoding various movie formats. The only way to really compare them is by using the same exact speaker system and source material.

What is your set up, I'm doing a PC (3080)->this receiver->C1, and curious how reliable that kind of set up will be.

I bought this one a few weeks ago and it does its job for me. I didn't audtition the 3 but I do like the specs of the Onkyo (90W per channel) and has an extra fan inside to help cool things down to avoid the boards burning like the previous Onkyos. The GUI is pretty impressive to use. I have it on a 5.1.2 setup and may be adding another slim subwoofer soon.

I'm doing Apple TV, Chromecast, Xbox Series X to CX. I'm sending second HDMI channel out to Hue Sync. This setup is working perfectly except for VRR which it looks like the Onkyo doesn't support.
