She loves it. Her hair is more wavy than curly; I guess the process is best for that type of hair. She used to spend an eternity with the flat iron every morning.
But yeah, the formaldehyde freaked me out a bit...I researched it, and apparently the risk is for the stylist, breathing it in for a few hours.
She did japanese straightening a few times. The first time turned out great, the other two not nearly as well.

That's just so weird! I've never thought of formaldehyde being used as a hair treatment. I guess they use it on stiffs and they use it to make the hair stiff..so it makes sense. lol. (Ok...that was a horrifically bad joke).
