Yeah, looks like they're clearing out old inventory.

The previous thread is marked expired, but they've been this price every time I've looked since: https://slickdeals.net/f/15572488-hue-white-ambiance-starter-kit-e26-59-99

These don't have Bluetooth and they don't support the new effects like candlelight and fireplace. They do change color temperature. They're also 60W equivalent vs. the 75/100 options available now.

The included bridge is the latest model.

If you don't need a bulb brighter than 800 lumens and don't care about effects, these are a great deal for Hue.

If you just want the bulbs and sell the bridge, it's about $7 a bulb.
To be honest I find myself barely changing the color of my hue bulbs other than the color temperature and brightness. These are a really good option for most scenarios.
That's true,
I tried changing the colors once just to test it, after setting my favorite color (basic natural light lol) i change brightness here and there that's it .

I def recommend a color or variable color temp bulb for the bedroom but otherwise 2700K is a lovely, cozy color temperature

Wish they had this price at a different store. How is Philips about returns etc? I have many Hue lights and only had one go bad in years of use but..

paid $74.76 for this same kit back in Aug 2018, bulbs still going strong but recently had to move my Hue bridge from an ethernet switch to being directly hooked to my router, luckily they sit right next to each other, no idea why it couldn't get connected via a simple unmanaged switch, it should literally just be forwarding packets

recently got into the Govee smart home system though so I'm contemplating making the switch away from Hue since bulbs are like half the price and you get full RGB color

Bridges for smart home products are just another PITA. Too many products that work natively with Alexa or Google to worry with a bridge. Just IMO

Same. I use my color bulbs in outside fixtures for Halloween and Christmas displays, but colors inside are just... yuck. To each their own

Very informative!
BTW, do you know if these produce PWM flickering? I know some dimmable bulbs produce PWM flickering even when set to max brightness.

I can't connect these to save my life! Had success with every other brand I've tried... but these... nope!

Can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. ☹

My older hub has had problems with the newer bulbs. I've had to put the serial number in to connect. Once that's done, no issues.

My original hue (I belive these posted are the same ones) bulbs, 3 which have been outside since 2015 in hot humid Midwest, to sub 0 degree winters are STILL WORKING. And my 7 indoors of course are still functioning with zero issues. Couple years ago I had issues with my autodoor automations (dusk/dawn) and found it was software issue. But hue app has been updated a lot and now have no issues.

No I'm not a sponsor or have any ties, but I'll happily buy a oem hue bulb, I don't need fancy colors. One thing I would suggest is looking at the 75/100 equivalent, the one I have in the family room is not quite bright enough, but for the rest it's just fine
