If you install the Manufacturer's utility (Samsung Magician), the status of the drive will tell you how many TB has been written to the drive.

Edit: Note, under normal Usage anywhere between 1-4TB of writes a year is expected for an SSD.
I think the expected lifespan of this specific drive (2TB 970 EVO Plus) is 1200TBW, do verify yourself!

Most refurbished products are customer returns for any reason, many could be barely used.
And the title said "Geek Squad Certified" so probably they are returns to BestBuy, not refurbished from manufacturer.

Yes, it's a typo. the 870 should read 970. It's an NVMe m.2 drive.

I bought a refurb 512 gb from BB ... in CD info, it showed 4 power on hours. Meaning it is essentially new, likely a customer return. This is a great price for a 2 tb.... the best of the PCI-e drives.

Thanks! Grabbed one. Usually the Geek Squad Refurbs have no to low hours. Last year I bought one and it had two power cycles and 0 power on hours. If you order one and its turns out to be heavily used you can always return it.
