1. Brew coffee
2. Fill carafe with coffee & the central tube with ice and water
3. Insert tube, allow time to cool coffee

Voila! Iced coffee in minutes without diluting it with ice cubes.

You could do something similar with sake for cold sake with your sushi or other Japanese meals. Though... 1.3 quarts is a LOT of sake lol!

There are infinitely better ways to make cold brew. This is just a jug with an ice stick in the middle. It would be decent for a large amount of sake, or anything you don't want diluted.

cold brew and iced coffee are different, this seems like a pretty good way to make undiluted iced coffee to me

Exactly! I wasn't suggesting that this could be used to make cold brew... after all, brewing hot coffee and chilling it isn't really considered to be a cold brew method.

This carafe could be used to chill hot (or room-temperature) beverages pretty quickly (especially if water+ice is put in the central tube) without diluting it. In addition to coffee and sake, it could be used for vodka, tea (regular or herbal), and perhaps even gazpacho, lol

Tea, Lemonade, Coffee, Gaspactho, Water(The ice doesn't add 'flavor' to the water), I would imagine any kind of beverage you don't want to dilute but keep cold. Alcoholic drinks at summer parties. I could see keeping it on the table with water and only refilling the ice to keep it cold, assuming you need more cold water in your diet. Picnic/BBQ
For me I was thinking about keeping cold undiluted water on the night stand.

Shipping kills the deal.(And no I don't drive)
