  1. Open the WaWa App or Download App (Android or iOS)
  2. New Members Register for Rewards in the App
  3. Tap on the fuel icon at the bottom of the app screen
  4. Select a store location
  5. Enter pump number
  6. Add or select your payment option
  7. Confirm your selections, and press "Activate Pump"
  8. On the pump, select your fuel grade and begin fueling
  9. Your discount should automatically apply

I see why you are saying this, I was trying to find a place to store my WAWA card, only payment method I could see was WAWA gift card, but the magic happens when you hit the fuel pump icon at the bottom -> select your location you are pumping at -> then hit "get started" ->it makes you confirm your location -> enter the pump number etc. I stopped there because I am in my livingroom, but this seems to be where it happens.

I've never heard of Wawa until LivePD. Obama gas (southern USA) is another one.

No you don't. And actually what's nice is unlike other store specific apps you don't even have to load a CC on the app. You can access Apple Pay as a choice and pay that way. Super simple. And at least for us Wawa is pretty inexpensive. Lately it's even been the same as Costco so even cheaper with the deal.

Agree…Wawa has the lowest gas prices in my area (compared to valero, quick check, etc, etc). In fact, as of now, the prices are same as Costco gas here.
