Because it was such a challenge for me to figure all of this out due to very vague info and people just confirming that they got the deal with all the discounts, I am going to try to lay it out more specifically:
(1) Take the free 2 week trial for instacart express (no need to download the app foolishly like me) by either going directly to the website (make sure you go to express) or you can go to your profile in your costco login page and there is an option to add it there to your account either by creating a new instacart express account or linking an existing account.
(2) Download cash app and signup (use an email....not a phone number) I believe that you will get an email about the order.
(3) Cash app -> Add debit card to cash app
(4) Add funds (at least $180-200)
(5) Cash app -> Second button on the bottom is to add a free card (they are basically making a credit card tied to your cash app account). They will give you the credit card number and expiry date on the screen so you can use it to check out like you would with a normal credit card
(6) Cash app -> on the cash card screen there is an option to "save boost" with a greenish icon/pic (new users). Its like an ad rather than an option. For previous users, it says "add boost".
(7) Cash app -> Add the instacart boost
(8) Go to the Costco SAME DAY webpage (linked in this thread) (NOT regular costco webpage WHICH WILL NOT accept your coupon). Choose the earbuds. Go through check out. Add Easter22 as the promo code. You will also see the $8 off in your checkout. If its not there, you did something wrong.
This is new to me so I am anxious to see if the boost works. Have no idea where I can verify or see it but I definitely added the instacart boost to the card.
Why am I seeing 187.99 versus 179.99 per OP?
That's the instacart $8 savings if you link instacart express to your profile.
How do you know if the Boost was applied?
On the cash app home screen, at the top right, there are 2 icons (Activity and Profile). Select the Activity option. It will say "Instacart 30% Boost Applied)"

To get the additional 30% for instacart on Cash App
Download Cash App on your phone
Do your thing and follow the instructions to input your debit card and create your account.
The WAYS to transfer money into your cash app if you created the account today is to do "Paper Money" or click "Add Cash" (I just found out)
Click Paper Money and go to your nearby 7-Eleven or whatever vendor nearby you to deposit about $185-$200. or whatever amount you want to input.
OR
I just found out you can click "ADD CASH" after you input your debit and it adds the funds into your account!!
Your Cash App account should update with the deposited amount within 5 minutes.
Once the money is in, make sure you go to the credit looking tab and choose Instacart 30% boost.

Google instacart express 2 weeks free trial. Find a site that have the link and sign up for the 2 weeks free trial to save on the fees.
On another page, go to costco.com
Click the "same day" tab. it is powered by instacart. or simply go to https://sameday.costco.
Find the products you want for $150 and check out.
Input your cash app DIGITAL CARD INFO in the credit card section.
Finalize your Order and you should receive a cash app notification that the 30% boost applied.
Once your order is delivered, that is when you'll see the boost amount transfer into your cash app account.
It takes many steps to save, so I hope this helps!

place costco order with new cash card
after order you get email it says boost applied
Note: you can get instant digital version of cash debit card and can add cash from your bank to cash card immediately
You need to link your bank account to the app not just your debit card. Once you link your actual bank account you can load the funds.

Per the Costco purchase email for the AirPods Pro /w MagSafe charging case:
$179.99 + $10.72 tax + $9.00 (Instacart tip) - $50 (EASTER22 promo) > $149.71
The Costco checkout page showed another $8 instacart express discount applied but I'm not sure it was applied.
Checked out using the cash app free credit card option after adding $150.00 in funds.
Got email from Cash App saying $30 Boost was instantly applied.
Cash App is showing I have $5.00 in funds available after the transaction instead of 29 cents.
Got SMS notification that the coscto order was confirmed, then a few minutes later that someone was shopping for the item with a link to insta.cr if any replacements would need to be approved.
Eta on delivery ~1 - 2 hours. >> Delivered approx 1 1/2 hours after order placed.
Update - As for the extra $30 off from using Cash App - All info I've read indicates it should have been an instant discount at the time of Instacart purchase instead of cash back... so unless they retroactively credit my Cash App balance I don't expect I'll get this $30. Note - I'm still up about $4.71 as the Instacart / Cash App transaction shows $145.00 instead of $149.71.
Update #2 - After some additional time, my Cash App balance (credit) went from ~5 to ~25... So I ended up paying about $100 + 10.72 tax + $10 tip => ~$121 after the credit/balance in my Cash App account.
Note - You can adjust the tip after delivery via the Costco survey.
