Had a terrible experience buying the UCS millennium falcon at Zavvi, it took weeks to arrive and the box arrived severely damaged (wet and beat up), their customer service says that they are unable to print return labels so you have to cover the return shipping (and they strongly suggest to add insurance) and depending on the condition they will evaluate whether is their fault or yours, of course both statements are ridiculous, especially shipping such a big and heavy set from the US back to UK, the shipping was about the same price as the set and they could easily deny the refund if they felt like it wasn't their fault.
Had to spend hours on the phone with PayPal and my bank to file a claim and do a return through them.
I had some good experiences with Zavvi with small items and small Lego sets but would never recommend ordering something as big and expensive as this set
Btw ...PayPal would only cover about $100 but they were offering the great amount of $150 for my trouble -___- ... At the end Amex processed the return through their system but it was a pain.
I got the UCS falcon in the first round of lego pre-orders that they forced inventory through their free club to give actual fans a chance at MSRP.
This thing has held value better than every one of my family members' current cars.
For $720 you would think they'd put it together for you.

One day I'm gonna buy the UCS Falcon and do this as a team build with my kids - they'll probably be AFOLs by then but I will make it happen
Honestly, it's a contender for best set ever.
The Super Star destroyer is a bit cooler as a piece (don't own that) - but I did get a death star for my son at around $300
The falcon build is easily more fun than both of them.
Sometimes LEGO just hits a sweet spot. I carefully picked up four of the "Lightning Dragon" from the first full wave of Ninjago — then the designs went all Picasso . . .

Nope, they didn't care since they kept the money because it was an international transaction there's nothing you can do as a customer, once the money is gone they won't give it back, Amex warranty/return service is your best option for situations like this

Did they offer any sort of discount for keeping it in that condition? I imagine everything inside (maybe not the instructions but they can be printed) would be fine so if they would give a discount I would have kept it Although I buy them to build and not for resale so it may be different in your case.
There's couple trolls who bs on every Zavvi deal ignore them. I've spent over $1 K on all the cars and been shipped from UK to NY in less than a week in perfect condition. just rec'd Ghostbusters Ecto-1 last Wednesday from there last short-lived sale which went out of stock quickly.
NJ here, I've also personally never had an issue with Zavvi and also got the Ecto-1, and the MFalcon, but i've never had to deal with their customer service either. Doesn't mean it doesn't suck or could have been a one off. People have been polling to stop FedEx from being the shipper for the Steam Deck , I received mine no problem, and I've also never had an issue with FedEx, doesn't mean that shitty stuff happens though. so it's a bit wrong to just write them off as "trolls who bs" and maybe you should be a bit more empathetic.
If you look at every Zavvi sd's these trolls post every time under different accounts/new accounts. No retailer is perfect, no shipper is careful with the packages but these trolls are so salty they post on every Zavvi deal so I am putting in my experience which has been perfect.
