The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens for Nikon is (APS-C) made for crop sensor cameras and will reduce the effective sensor of a full frame camera by a factor of 1.5
And also this 30mm lens will be effective as 1.5 time (45mm) on a full frame camera.
The 40mm f1.4 for Sony is one of the sharpest lenses I've ever used. I got one for $799 and thought it was a steal. At this price it's a no brainer. Plus it doubles as a weapon due to size and weight

You're right about using less of the sensor when using an APS-C lens on a full-frame body, but FYI I bought the 56/1.4 for Sony as an inexpensive way to get a high quality 1.4 ... on my body it shoots at around 20mp and that's just fine for my need at that focal length.

I remember reading somewhere that it's because it's not a native Sony lens, but they have a built-in converter that they applied to their (I want to say) Canon 40mm f/1.4 lens. Not sure if there's any truth to that, but the rumors were that it would be deprecated in favor of a more compact version that is designed for the Sony mount. May be worth doing some research before pulling the trigger, if size/weight matter to you.

There was a deal that ended this morning for this, I missed my chance.
