While true,it's a $10 torque wrench. If I was doing something delicate/precise I'd definitely test it first. All you have to do is set it, put it in a vise, and hang a weight a foot from the end.
They're worthless without the old coupons.

.....Omw there to buy more stuff.

Not sure why this was thumbs downed, so chiming in to say I got an inaccurate torque wrench, from harbor freight, and did damage. Trusted it on an aluminum head and it didn't feel right, but didn't click. Stripping the threads out of an engine part due to a defective torque wrench freaking sucks.

Or their jack stands almost killed me. And then the replacement jack stands were also recalled...the CEO should've resigned at that point.
which jack stands are you referring to?

I was just checking their site last night for a hydraulic press.. Coupon here.

...And none of the stores in 50 miles have it in stock. Excellent. Not sure I feel like driving an hour away to save $50.

Review seems mixed. Inaccurate torque wrench could do a lot of damage
Their accuracy is decent enough. The problem is inconsistency in that they often fail to click, or at least click noticeably, which ends up in over torqued fasteners or broken bolts and stripped out threads.

You better be working on something that doesn't really matter much or really know what you're doing, if you're using a $10 torque wrench.

It's still a torque wrench, it's designed to do one thing.

Then add the people that don't lower the setting when finished

Thanks. I was regretting not getting another Apache case for some tools so this is nice to see.
What kind of tools do you store in those and which case do you recommend?

Can't speak to their torque wrenches, but have you looked into any reviews of the current Daytona jack stands? They're pretty overbuilt compared to other stands in the category

And yet all torque wrenches need to be calibrated. And stored correctly. And can get off. I'm merely saying I wouldn't trust one, especially a $10 one. In something that difficult to repair where it needs to be that precise. When I can easily set it up and calibrate myself with a little math and know if it's off and adjust.

Granted I very very rarely need a torque wrench. Most of the time by feel is sufficient. But every product has a failure rate. A $10 harbor freight torque wrench is usually going to have a higher rate than some much more expensive ones. But it's also easy to test for.
