It use to drop to this price frequently before January 2022 and shipping was included. Since January, this is the first time I have seen the chair drop to this price. There is an additional $80 delivery fee now as well.

Reading the bad reviews and the good, it seems like delivery and some units being DOA is a concern. Several people mentioned having to return it to the store was a real pain. Others mention it can too rough. From using other chairs one way to address that is to put a towel or two over the chair. One couple I know does that because most people like the harder pressure but one person does not. But she is fine with throwing a towel on it or wearing a sweater. You get what you pay for, this is not going to be as nice as the 8,000 chairs. But, this does seem like a good value once it is delivered and set up.

I went ahead and bought today. With gas prices going up and inflation in general I doubt the free shipping comes back But that is a guess, no time machine to check for sure.

I used to work for a massage chair retailer with similar models like this. They're not really very comfortable as just chairs. The rollers don't have too much padding in front of them so that they can do their job effectively. Take a look at the Human Touch brand of massage chairs. They have some more "contemporary" models that don't scream massage chair and are a bit more comfortable to just sit and relax in.

Mine just got delivered. Delivery was by Geek Squad. I was out of local service area so it was $80 to deliver. They were quick and courteous but they just dropped it where I asked them and left. No setup.
The web page had indicated free delivery and setup but then they charged $80 for delivery. I live 30 miles away so that is far enough.
The service agreement they sent me before I took delivery said delivery was to the threshold but they would not "Cross the threshold." I agreed to that when I scheduled the delivery but I was not thrilled with the development.
The delivery men put it exactly where I asked but unboxing was not included. But they were very professional and could not have been nicer.

Overall, I have to go unbox it now and it is large and heavy, which is not a bad thing. Then I will be ready to try it out. I do wish they would have unboxed it and made sure it worked though.

The black one is on sale for 1,250 today. That does not seem like a slick deal. I thought I would update here for reference though.

I don't regret buying the chair at 1,000 plus shipping but I would only give it 3 stars for performance. My mother in law has an older model massage chair that was around $8,000 ten years ago. My mother in law's chair gives a great massage. I did not expect this to be as good as her chair but I had hoped that it would be close since the chairs have had a decade to improve design and the prices have come down overall. I also have a massaging cushion pad that you put in a regular chair and it gives you a massage. It works well and was on sale for around 80 when I bought it. I expected the chair to work at least that well but it does not come close.

I've had the chair for 4 days so my opinion could still change.
I am 5'8" and out of shape, for reference on the below comments.
The chair is heavy, around 185 pounds. I had to pay an extra $80 delivery because I live outside the local delivery area. The service agreement said they deliver to the door or will put in the garage but will not cross the threshold. Fortunately, the deliver guys set it inside the house where I requested with zero problems. I had to unbox it myself. There are wheels on the bottom of the chair so even though the chair is heavy that was pretty quick and painless.
The footrest is spring loaded or similar. I have to press down to keep my legs extended. Not enough for it to be exercise but enough that it I relax my legs the footrest pushes them up.
The massaging rod seems to love butts. It goes down to almost the upper thigh. It does not feel bad but it is rather odd. If it was a person I would be concerned about how often they go to that area and how much time they spend there. A couple of friends have used the chair and had the same impressions about that and also about the overall performance. I let them try the chair before I mentioned my opinion to try to avoid biasing them.
The massage rods do not go very high up on the back and do not get the neck and shoulder area at all. The air bags squeeze a little on the shoulders.

I have tons of stress and the chair does work somewhat. I was considing buying one for my dad but I am very glad I did not. It is too rough on the lower back but does do much in other areas. I have used the adjustments on the controller to improve on that but it is still not good.

I don't plan on returning the chair. I would not recommend it to others but I would not advise them against it either it they wanted to buy one. I would not purchase it again even at a deep discount.

Bought it for my aunt, she had similar complaints about the strength even after adjustments. But for some reason, the "Relax" mode was perfect for her.

Thanks, I will try the setting a few times and see how it goes.

My *girlfriend liked the chair a lot. She had no previous experience to bias her so that probably helps. Plus, she is around 5' 1" so she said it did a nice job on her upper back. I believe she left the settings where they were so that would have been on the highest setting for how high up it goes.

My son is 6' 3" and has tried the expensive chair and the cushion so he has similar prior experience to me. His impression was the same but he tried laying down with his butt near the edge of the chair and his legs extended beyond the leg unit. It looked very uncomfortable but he said it was not bad that way. LMAO I have read reviewers from people who say they are 6'3" and that it worked great but I don't see how.

My biggest complaint after having used it a while is still that the foot unit is spring loaded and pushes my legs up when I relax. I can sit further down in the chair, similar to how my son did, and the back massage is much better. My feet fit into the foot unit but the problem with the unit pushing my legs up is worse that way.

*For the reader who is paying attention, I mentioned my mother-in-law earlier. My late wife, her daughter, passed away about 4.5 years ago. I still call my late wife's mother my mother-in-law. I suspect I always will but might be odd if I get remarried but who knows what the future will bring.
