I had these a few years ago. Decent and definitely worth under 10. I had the same issue as most report of sound going out but it was after maybe a year and a lot of mobile gaming. Sound isn't bad either.

FYI I think these are available through corporate perks via HP for a few bucks less.

Also, do these have a USB connection? I can't tell from the listing if the PC extension cord is just an extension or if it's USB connection

Not usb, it has a single 3.5mm stereo plug (4 pole) and PC extension cable with dual 3.5mm stereo and mic plugs.

Wow your right, My perks at work for hp showed up as 6.49, plus tax, free shipping. To get the 6.49 price you must login to perksatwork.com and go to hp store through their portal. Then login at the hp website.

Had one of these refurb from Amazon. Lasted for years until the pads started to peel. Super light. Just ordered one for the kids' PC. Can't beat this price.

The wires break very easily in these, the warranty will cover it but you pay shipping back which is more or same as the price from this deal. After replacing it under warranty the new ones broke within a month as well.

Had a pair of these that lasted about a year. the mic ended up putting out lots of static. It might have been the cord I'm not sure. I didn't bother with warranty replacement. They got 100's of hours of use so I consider this a very good buy for the price. Got a couple for spares.
