It must be said, this is probably the worst tasting canned coconut milk product out there. It's weirdly thick and devoid of flavor. Chaokoh and Aroy-D are much better, and usually less expensive at a good asian market.

Regular price at my Costco is $9 and ~$6 when it goes on sale.

How is that even much cheaper? A quart of heavy cream is $5 near me.

Absolutely. I went to Thailand a couple years ago and got to taste real coconut milk. The closest thing is what you said, cans at Asian food markets

Thank you!!! 40 cents a can cheaper than Costco ($2.40 cheaper for the 6 pk total) Another slick deals tip: take one of these cans and dump in a glass jar. Add 2 capsuls you open of a probiotic and stir with a *nonmetal* spoon. Leave on counter 24hrs (or 48 for tangy) and you have coconut yogurt. I make and eat this all week long. 😁 Here's the full recipe: https://minimalistbaker.com/easy-...ut-yogurt/

Not gunna lie, I think coconut milk is pretty overrated and just too expensive. The other day I made curry with replacing coconut milk and coconut cream with almond milk, heavy cream, and coconut extract. Worked perfectly.
Not for everyone and I'm sure someone has some reason for getting specifically coconut milk/cream, but for cheapass people like me, here's a hack, lol.
Heavy cream is equally expensive. With that said for those that can't process dairy like myself, this is a godsend.

This is $1.42 a can, my Asian market has different brands but I don't recall any cheaper than $1.42 a can. As far as quality and taste, I would agree that there are brands that taste better than this. In addition to Thai food I use coconut milk in soups. It works well with African peanut soup and cream of pumpkin so I try to keep a handful of cans on hand and tend to grab a couple of cans any time I see it at a decent price in the store.
Yeah, actually, you're right. I think I remember buying cans for around $1.25-1.50 on sale, so this is in the same range. However, you're committed to buying a 6-pack in this deal, which is not worth the risk if you're not sure you like it, IMO.

No deal. I wouldn't take this product for free.

Just get the Chaokoh, it's the best.

I used to get $1 coconut milk at my local asian market. They are now selling it at $1.30 a can. That's 30% inflation.... and they are trying to say inflation is at only 8% or some nonsense. LOL.

I have not seen it at those prices for a while at my local Asian stores lately. I agree that this brand is inferior to most of the cans they carry, but this is a good price.

Didn't Costco happen to carry this Chaokoh brand sometime ago before dumping them because they used monkey labor to take coconuts?

Didn't know their stuff tasted better though - decisions. Are there any socially responsible brands that also tasted good?

To me --- the use of animal labor is overblown. As long as the farmers care for them properly and aren't beating them, who cares. The Amish here in the states still use animal labor... I'm not seeing any difference.

Where? The cheapest I've seen is at Trader Joe's for $2.
